Stonemason: Born at Franklinville, Huntingdon Co., Pa., April 8, 1892, a son of William McIlwaine, a stonemason, and of Sarah (Hall) McIlwaine, both residing at Franklinville, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Wilbur McIlwaine has been for fifteen years a stonemason; was for five years a machinist at Altoona, Pa., for the Penna. R.R. He served in the World War; enlisted at Huntingdon, Pa.; sent to Laurel, Md., for two months, and was assigned to Co. C, 66th Engineers; to Hoboken, N.J.; embarked for overseas on transport (Mongolia); was on water fourteen days; landed at Brest, France; thence to St. Nazaire; there for one month; to Virginny, France; to La Roche for two weeks; to Montargis, France; to La Mons; to Brest for return to United States on (New Amsterdam); landed at Hoboken, N.J., nine days on water; to Camp Merritt; to Camp Dix, and was discharged. His duties were to repair locomotives. Mr. McIlwaine is a Republican. He has one brother, Raymond, of Franklinville, Pa. Two sisters: Annie, married to Charles Lilly; Verna, married to William Robertson, Philadelphia, Pa. Wilbur McIlwaine was married to Mabel Goss, a daughter of William and Laura Goss; both are living at Tyrone, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. McIlwaine have on daughter, Eyvonne, three years of age. At present he is employed on the new stone church being erected at Warriorsmark, Huntingdon County, Pa.
