Meats and Provisions: He was born in Scranton, Pa., January 11, 1892, a son of Samuel McKeehan, who was born in Perry County, Pa., and is living in Germany Valley. He married Sarah Katharine Lutz, who was born in Huntingdon county, of Scotch-Dutch descent, and who died in 1907, at the age of forty-eight years. Paul Lutz McKeehan obtained his first knowledge of an education at Scranton, Pa., and also at Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, Pa. He has traveled much, from coast to coast. He has been a farmer, well posted on livestock of all kinds. In 1922 he engaged in the meat and provision business on Jefferson street, Mt. Union; after a period of time moved across the street to a more suitable location, dealing in native products raised on their farm. He is a World War veteran. Enlisted at Huntingdon, Pa.; sent to Camp Lee, Virginia; from October, 1917, to January 10, 1918, assigned to the 163rd Infantry, a part of the 41st Division. Left for Hoboken, New Jersey; embarked on vessel (Agomondon); was ten days on voyage; arrived at Brest, France, March 10, 1918; went to Mt. Richard, there for ten days; thence to Gondacoart; at this point was conducted a school where gas instruction was given to officers not acquainted with its harmful effects; he was a trainer. A gas house was constructed, where instruction was imparted; also he instructed in trench and scout work; he was at this location from April until October 11, 1918, after which he left for St. Aignon; went into classification camp. When armistice was signed, left for Brest, France; embarked on (U.S. President Grant); was on voyage eighteen days; landed at Hoboken, N. J.; to Camp Dix; was discharged as first class private, with a total service of twenty months. He belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, No. 572, Cromwell Lodge, Orbisonia, Pa. He has served on election board. A Republican. He has one brother, Ray, a farmer in Germany Valley, Huntingdon County, Pa. Paul Lutz McKeehan was married to Ella Fink, a daughter of David and Mary Fink. Mr. and Mrs. McKeehan have one daughter Katharine, aged four and a half years. They belong to the Presbyterian Church. Horses and baseball are his diversions.
