MICKEY Alexandria, Pa. Mickey Poultry Farm: John F. Mickey was born at Mifflin, Juniata Co., Pa., May 28, 1893. At the Olive Branch School he began his preliminary education. A son of Robert J. Mickey, who died in 1924, and of Elsie (Hinkle) Mickey, now living at Alexandria, Pa. John F. Mickey is a graduate of Juniata Business College, 1911 and he was for six years employed as an electrician with the Penna R.R. Middle Division, out of Altoona, Pa. In 1921 established the Mickey Poultry Farm at Alexandria, Pa., specializing on Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, and White Leghorn poultry. He has been very successful. At the international show at Harrisburg, Pa., in 1925, he received first pullet prize and second young pen. Received a loving cup from Penn State; 200 prizes from Huntingdon Co. fairs; three grand prizes from Huntingdon county fairs during 1923-26 and 1928, and from State College thirty prizes. He belongs to the International Baby Chick Association, Pennsylvania Poultry Association, Huntingdon County Poultry Association; also Signalmen of America. Has four brothers: Fred, married to Flora Fasic, Mifflin, Pa.; Ross, married to Vada Wagner, Mifflin, Pa.; Francis, married to Edith Varner, Lancaster, Pa.; Rolland, married to Elinor Spyker, Alexandria, Pa. Sisters are: Goldie, married to Charles McDonald, Titusville, Pa.; Elvie, at home; Edna, married to William Germann, Alexandria, Pa.; Erie, married to Brade Turbett, Mexico, Pa.; Esther, married to Richard Letterman, Williamsport, Pa. Marie died in 1918, aged twenty-nine years. John F. Mickey was married to Anna Johnson; they have two children, Betty Ann, eight years, and Mary Jane, five years. At his place is always to be found the choicest and select poultry. The location is well adapted for the carrying on of this business. Buildings are constructed in such a way that they are beneficial to the raising of poultry.
