MILLER Huntingdon, Pa. Retired Merchant: Born in Miller Township, on a farm, February 2, 1866, of Scotch-Irish parentage. A son of Jacob C. Miller, who died in 1899, seventy-five years of age, and of Caroline (Green) Miller, who died in 1905, aged seventy-seven years. His great-grandfather came from Ireland. Harry C. Miller was schooled in Miller Township, Huntingdon County, Pa. He owns two farms, one of one hundred and thirty acres, the other the homestead, known as the Miller farm, two hundred and twenty acres. This farm dates back to deed of William Penn heirs, 1793. In February, 1926, Harry Miller took over the Home Service Store, and operated it successfully. For twenty-four years he was a school director in Miller Township, a supervisor, and served on the election board. Both he and his wife are Methodists. During the World War was engaged at farming. He belongs to Donation Grange, No. 330. Has brothers: James G., married to Ruth Bell, Miller Township, Huntingdon County, Pa.; Robert died in 1923. Three sisters: Mary, married to T. O. Milliken, deceased; Charlotte and Nannie, at home. Harry C. Miller was married to Annie Bell, of Manor Hill, Huntingdon County, Pa. Following are the sons of this union: Jacob C., married to Hazel Miller, Altoona, Pa.; Thomas B., married to Jane Gibboney, Huntingdon, Pa.; Robert, at home; Richard J. assists his father in the store; Donald Franklin was drowned in 1926. Harry Miller conducts a first-class, up-to-date grocery and confectionery store. He is capable and obliging, and looks after the wants of his customers, and by so doing has succeeded in no small way.
