Assistant Paymaster Rock Hill Iron and Coal Company: Born at Wilmington, Delaware. Son of Charles A. and Maude (Millis) Moore, a daughter of John H. and Hettie Millis, both living at Wilmington, Delaware; both grandparents on both sides were Civil War veterans. Charles A. Moore was Deputy register and Recorder of Wills, Wilmington, Delaware. Forrest Dryden Moore attended the grade schools of Wilmington, Delaware, and also the High School at West Chester, Pa. He took a course in accountancy at La Salle College. In business at Robertsdale, Pa., 1923. Has been Assistant Paymaster of the Rock Hill Iron and Coal Co. for the past eleven years. Now serving as school director; also inspector on election board; belongs to Methodist church; was steward; wife also belongs to same church; family attend Sunday school. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, Cromwell Lodge, No. 572, Orbisonia, Pa.; Harrisburg Consistory; American Legion, No. 518, Orbisonia, Pa.; Huntingdon Country Club; a Republican in politics; a World War man, 77th Field Artillery, 4th Division; enlisted at Philadelphia, Pa.; assigned to Troop I, 19th Cavalry; to Fort Ethan Allen, Vermont; from there to Hattiesburg, Miss.; to Camp Green, North Carolina; overseas on H.M.S. (Horiata); arrived at Liverpool, England; to La Harve, France; to Bordeaux; to Chateau-Thierry; to St. Mihiel; to Argonne Forest; gassed in action at Argonne Forest, October 26, 1918; to Base Hospital No. 13, Limoges, France; there until January 22, 1919; from Limoges to Hospital Base No. 11, Bordeaux, France; sailed on hospital ship (Wilhelmina); landed at New York; transferred to General Hospital No. 3, New York City; transferred to Base Hospital, Camp Dix, New Jersey; discharged April 1, 1919. He has three brothers: Dr. Raymond Moore, married to Anne Rommel, Wilmington, Delaware; Clark, a drummer in orchestra, Wilmington, Delaware. One brother deceased, Clayton, killed in an auto accident, aged twenty-one years. Forrest Dryden Moore was married to Sarah M. Dutton, a daughter of Harry and Mabel Dutton, West Chester, Pa. They have one son, Forrest D., Jr., nine years, at school, fourth grade; one daughter, Sarah Jane, aged six years, at school.
