S. MYERS Shirley Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Farmer: He was born in Shirley Township, October 10, 1898. A son of William Myers; he was a blacksmith and farmer for a good part of his life; he died in 1907; he married Rebecca Shue, of Hill Valley; she is a sister of John Shue; she resides in Hill Valley. H. S. Myers first began his schooling in Shirley Township, after which he attended the Upper Hill Valley Schools. He farmed in Hill Valley and in 1929 came to his present location. He was for thirteen months with the Harbison- Walker Refractories Company of Mount Union, Pa. During World War was farming. In politics a Republican. He has one sister, Florence, married to G. B. Wilson, at Pogue, Huntingdon County, Pa.; they are farmers. He has three brothers: Lee, Swissvale, with Swissvale Switch and Signal Works; Ray, at home; one half-brother, Carl Banks, resides in Hill Valley. H. S. Myers was married to Mary Nelson, a daughter of Newton and Mary Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Myers have one daughter, Margaret, born June 27, 1926; one son, Elmer, born March 3, 1927. Note: Horace S. (31, farmer), Mary O. (21), Elmer L. (3) and Margret E. ( 1 11/12) Myers are listed in the 1930 Shirley Township, Huntingdon County census.
