CHARLES CLIFFORD NORRIS Saltillo, Pa. Educator: Along educational lines, Saltillo is fast coming into its own with a new up-to-date well lighted and well arranged school building, and among its instructors is listed Prof. Charles Clifford Norris. He was born January 20, 1901. His father was Herbert Norris, who died Feb. 27, 1916. The mother's name was Nina (Lane) Norris, of English descent. Charles Norris began his educational career at Three Springs, Huntingdon County, Pa.; continued on for a period of time and entered the High School at Orbisonia, Pa. from 1918 to 1922, and then to West Chester State Normal School, form 1923 to 1925. He has taught school at Pine Grove, Clay Township; Darby, Delaware County, Pa.; Todd Township and Saltillo, Pa. Teaching is his profession. Was for a time salesman in Huntingdon County. Is Vice-President of Epworth League; belongs to Methodist Church; a teacher in the Sunday School, and in politics a Republican. Has one sister, Harriet Norris, Los Angeles, Calif. Two brothers: Fred, of Altoona, Pa., and I. C. Norris, of Allentown, Pa. Prof. Norris was married to Ann Polinchak. They have two children, Kathleen Ann, two years, and Clifford Herbert Norris, the youngest, and naturally the boss of the household, aged eight months. The Professor delights in hiking over the roads, admiring the scenery and deriving healthful exercise. He has become a part of the community and endeavors to assist in every worthy project.
