MURRAY OGDEN Huntingdon, Pa. Decorator: J. Murray Ogden was born at Franklinville, N.Y., February 8, 1885, and at the place of his birth he received his first insight into the elements of an education, entering Ten Broeck Academy at the age of thirteen years, at Franklinville, N.Y. His father, J. Murray Ogden, was a painter and decorator; was a cook during Civil War for soldiers at Mammoth Cave, Ky.; died in 1918. His mother is Ellen (Snyder) Ogden, living at Franklinville, N.Y. In 1922 he established a wallpaper business, dealing also in pictures, china, and dainty pieces for gifts, etc.; contracts are entered into for decorating, painting, exterior and interior work; a complete line of newest shades and designs in wall paper. Is constantly kept busy. He was formerly in charge as painter for the Buffalo Marine and Construction Co., He had charge of painters for the Curtis Aeroplane Corporation at Buffalo, N.Y. He decorated churches at Franklinville, N.Y., and Friendship, N.Y. During the World War was on construction work at Buffalo, N.Y. For ten years was on election board in New York State. He belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, Franklinville, N.Y., No. 626; a Shriner, Buffalo, N.Y.; a thirty-two degree Mason, Coudersport, Pa.; Consistory at Coudersport, Pa.; B.P.O.E., at Huntingdon, Pa.; a Presbyterian; wife also, Huntingdon, Pa.; a member of New Era Bible Class. He has one sister, Phoebe, married to Frank Mitchell, Franklinville, N.Y. One brother and sister deceased. He was married to Marie Reynolds, a daughter of H. P. and Mary E. Reynolds. The father is deceased, the mother living at Franklinville, New York.
