EZRA PARKS Marklesburg, Pa. Minister: Rev. Ezra L. Parks was born at Eastern Shore, Md., Feb. 22, 1901, of Scotch-Irish descent, the father being William T. Parks, who died in 1925, aged sixty-four years. The mother is Melissa (Landon) Parks, who resides at the home of the subject of this sketch. The Rev. Mr. Parks began his educational career at Harrisburg, Pa., later entered Harrisburg Technical High, and graduated in 1920; then went to Dickinson Seminary, Williamsport, 1923; also at Lebanon Valley. At present he is taking a special course at Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa. His present charge is what is known as the James Creek charge, including Russelville, Entriken, Marklesburg, and McConnellstown; formerly had charges at Ennisville Circuit; Rehoboth, Cumberland Co., Pa., and at Reedsville Circuit, Mifflin Co., Pa. His first charge was at Milroy, Pa. He is a member of the Knights of Malta, No. 11, Egyptian Commandery; a Past Commander, Harrisburg, Pa. A Republican in politics. Has two brothers, Melvin, married to Jennie Maurer, Shamokin, Pa.; Elmer, married to Bertha Frank, Lancaster, Pa., and one brother, deceased. Rev. Ezra L. Parks was married to Helen Wright, of Harrisburg, Pa., a daughter of James and Bertha Wright. They have one son, Robert, three and one-half years of age. Rev. Parks is interested in is work and strives in every way to preach a gospel of love and righteousness. Through his ministry the church has benefited, has been enlarged and added interest has been injected into all of its activities.
