Merchant: Mack Parson was born near Nossville, Huntingdon County, Pa., November 9, 1862. A son of James H. and Mary Ann (Jones) Parson. Both are deceased. James H. Parson was a Civil War veteran, Penna. Col. Inf. Mack Parson has followed various kinds of work. A handy man along all lines. In 1923 he established himself in the mercantile business at Nossville, carrying in stock a full line of groceries and provisions; also has in connection a service station. He has been a constable for five years, succeeding William Jones. All the members of the family are Methodists, of the Nossville Methodist Church. Mr. Parson is librarian. He served one term as inspector on election board. He is a Republican. Two brothers: Robert B., Indianapolis, Ind.; his wife is deceased; she was from Kentucky; D.C. Parson, married to Lizzie Campbell, farmers in Tell township. He has four brothers deceased. James A., Doris, Sylvester, and Sarvis. His sisters are Mary E., married to William Devinney, deceased; Naomi, married to Bart Gardner, New York; Sarah M., Nicholson, Pa.; Catharine, married to McClelland Foltz. His wife is deceased. Annie and Emma died in infancy. Mack Parson was married to Frances Pennebaker, a daughter of Simon and Martha Pennebaker. Their children in the order of their birth follow: Mary, married to Earl Goshorn, Shade Valley, farmers; James, married to Susanna Piper, Franklin County, Pa.; Harry S., married to Tena Worthington, Franklin County, Pa.; Beulah, married to Alva Parsons, Shade Valley,; Louis, married to Mary Sibert, Path Valley; William, Lewistown, Pa. Emory died in 1928, of fever, Martha, married to Earl Showers, Lewistown, Pa.; Mabel, married to Dick Filson, Lewistown, Pa. Paul, aged fifteen years, at home.
