PATTERSON Alexandria, Pa. Merchant: Robert M. Patterson was born at Alexandria, Pa., April 5, 1888, of Scotch-Irish parentage, and in the grade schools of Alexandria secured his education. A son of Jno. N. Patterson, who died January 30, 1917, and Catharine (Malseed) Patterson, who died in 1915. Robert Patterson followed various occupations; was a general utility man with the Stowe-Fuller Brick Company, of Alexandria, with a service of six years, and during the World War was General Superintendent of what is known as the Silica Brick plant at Mount Union, established by the late Scott Dibert, of Johnstown, Pa. and also with the Lavina Refractories Company, at Womelsdorf, Pa., for a period of six years. At present is engaged in business at Alexandria, Pa., groceries and foodstuffs. He is a Presbyterian. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity of Bedford, Pa., and the Reading, Pa., Consistory and Shrine; also Camp 699, P.O.S. of A., Alexandria. Has one brother, Samuel H., married to Mary Winters, of Alexandria, Pa. Two sisters: Ella, married to M.G. Robb, Hartslog Valley; Margaret S., married to Guy Thompson, Alexandria, Pa. Robert Patterson was married to Arlene Voltz. Two children of this union: Frances Catharine, a Sophomore, Alexandria High School, and Margaret Elizabeth, eleven years, Sixth grade, at school. He is President of the Baseball Association, and is interested in all that has to do with the upbuilding of Alexandria's interests, whether it be in sports or its municipal affairs.
