Meats and Provisions: Born at McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon County, Pa., December 15, 1880. A son of Jacob Peterson, a Civil War Veteran, who was in Co. G, 99th Penna. Vol. Inf. He was in business at Aughwick, Huntingdon County, Pa., when the East Broad Top Railroad was built. He married Caroline Jones; both are deceased, the father dying in 1899 at the age of fifty-seven years; the mother at the age of seventy-two years. Wilmer Peterson began his early schooling at Roxbury, Huntingdon County, Pa. He remained on the farm until the age of twenty years; he and his brother own two farms; was in the livery business for two and a half years at Lewistown, Pa.; in the meat and provision business at Mount Union, Pa., for six and a half years, and at Orbisonia, where he is at present engaged in the same business. Has been at this location for seven years. During the World War was a farmer in Cromwell Township. He served on the Town Council of Mount Union, Pa. He is a Methodist; his wife also; he is a trustee. A Republican. Brothers are Don C., Orbisonia, Pa.; Howard, Rockhill, Huntingdon County, Pa., a dairyman; one brother deceased, Walker, who died at the age of two years. Wilmer Peterson was married to Sadie Whitzel, a daughter of Peter Whitzel, who died in March, 1909. He re- married to Rachel Heeter, daughter of David Heeter; the father is living, the mother deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson have two sons, Robert and Richard; they are twins, twelve years of age, attending grade school.
