H. PRICE Shade Gap, Pa. Game Protector: Born at Shade Gap, October 5, 1871. A son of William A. Price, a Civil War veteran, Co. I, Penna. Vol. Inf., 149th Regiment; was in several engagements. His father, Joshua Price, resided at Shade Gap, Huntingdon County, Pa. William A. Price died in 1914, aged seventy-three years. His wife was, before marriage, Margaret D. Jones, now living at Shade Gap, Pa. S.H. Price received his education at Shade Gap. He has been a Game Protector for ten years; formerly was with blast furnaces as an iron budger; worked in ore mines and lumber camps. Was eight years as fireman, afterwards a foreman, at Harbison- Walker Refractories Company, Mount Union, Pa. He was a school director, for thirteen years, in the borough of Shade Gap. Belongs to the Methodist Church, Shade Gap; a trustee and steward; Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School. He is a Republican. Was with the Harbison-Walker Refractories Company, Mount Union, during the World War. Has six brothers: William, married to Bertha Snyder, a farmer, Neelyton, Pa.; Joshua, married to Emma Lake, Shade Gap, Pa.; Harvey, married to Lulu Everhart, Woodvale, Huntingdon County, Pa.; Cambridge, Shirleysburg; Arthur, Port Royal, Pa.; Owen, Mount Union, Pa. Two sisters: Mrs. Ella Waters, Burnham, Pa., and Mrs. Amanda Black, Lewistown, Pa. S.H. Price was married to Ida Snyder, a daughter of J.K. and Margaret Snyder. The following are the children: Dean, married to Josephine Cramer, Mount Union, Pa.; James, a foreman, Mount Union, Pa.; Cloyd M., married to Ethel Robinson, Mount Union, Pa.; Cecil, in the United States Government service; has been for six years, at Fort Bliss, Texas; Joseph, at home, High School, Orbisonia, Pa. Don and Chalmer are deceased. Daughters: Mrs. Marie Secrist and Mrs. Mamie Estep are twins; Mrs. Jesse Flasher, Mount Union, and Mrs. Dorcas Cutshall, Mount Union, Pa. Note: Samuel H. (58), Ida B. (59), and Joseph K. Price (17) are listed in the 1930 Shade Gap, Huntingdon County census.
