Master Plumber: He was born in Tell Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa., May 10, 1885, a son of Luther Reeder, who was a farmer all his life; he owned a farm. He married Isabel Jones. He died in 1923, at the age of sixty-eight years. She died in 1898, at the age of thirty-eight years. Orrin Reeder was born and raised on a farm. he began his preliminary education at Coulter's school in Tell Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. For a period of time he was with the Harbison-Walker Refractories Co., and later on with the General Refractories Co. he was a carpenter; was with B.W. Reeder as plumber for a number of years. He then branched out as a plumber on his own accord; established a business of his own; made good; for eighteen years he has been a plumber. In 1924 he built a modern place of business; carries in stock a complete line of builders, hardware, painters, heating and sanitary supplies; plans and specifications are submitted for plumbing and tinning. Contracts are entered into for work of this character. He is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Mount Union, Pa.; is treasurer of Sunday School class. The family are Methodists. During the World War was a plumber. He belongs to the Masonic Fraternity of Mount Union, Pa., No. 688; also the Chapter; a member of the Country Club. A Republican. Has three brothers: B. W., of Mount Union; Elmer, of Peru Lack, Juniata Co., Pa.; Foster, Orbisonia, Pa.; one brother deceased, La Monte, who died at the age of four years. One sister, Annie Hower, Lewistown, Pa. Orrin Reeder was married to Laura Stitt, a daughter of Robert and Mary Stitt. They have three sons: Robert was married to Ruth Oppel; he operates a poultry farm in Shirley township; he is a graduate of the Mount Union High School. Took a course in taxidermy; attended Juniata College, and was a teacher for several years. A daughter was born September 7, 1929; Raymond, a graduate of Mount Union High School; was on Varsity Basketball team; now at University of Pittsburgh, Pa., taking dental course; Charles, more familiarly known as Chet, a Senior in the Mount Union High School; was a captain of Junior High School football team. Played two years on Junior Varsity basketball team.
