Postal Clerk: Born on a patriotic day, July 4, 1885, at Otelia, Huntingdon county, Pa. A son of David and Mary (Himes) Rorer. Both are living, and reside on a farm about midway between Mount Union and Shirleysburg. The Rorers have been residents of this section for years. Two sons live nearby. Clyde Ray Rorer attended the schools of the township where he was born for eleven years. Was employed with the Harbison-Walker Refractories Company, of Mount Union, Pa., and in 1916 was appointed a postal clerk at the Mount Union office. He has rendered faithful service, is dependable, and obliging. He is a member of the I.O.O.F., No. 677, Mount Union, Pa. A Republican. He has two living brothers: John, a farmer, Shirley Township; Charles Rorer, a school teacher, Shirley township, both of Huntingdon County, Pa. Two brothers deceased, Samuel and Isaac. He has two living sisters: Mrs. Laura Reck and Mrs. Lulu Parsons; one sister deceased, Mrs. William Pecht. Clyde Ray Rorer was married to Myrtle C. Madden, a daughter of Enoch and Mary Madden. Two sons of this union: Robert, with the E.A. Beaver Company, was married to Blanche Hawn, of Huntingdon, Pa.; he is a graduate of the Mount Union High School; Carl, a graduate of the Mount Union High School; he was married to Angeline Waite, of Three Springs, Huntingdon County, Pa. They have one son, Donald, born in 1929.
