CLAY RORER Mount Union, Pa. Managing Clerk: The Rorers come of a strong patriotic race, Scotch- Irish, who have made themselves a force in the community where they reside. The subject of this sketch, M. Clay Rorer, was born at Otelia, Huntingdon County, in Shirley Township, January 19, 1890, where many of the Rorers resided and were born. They tilled the soil and later branched out to various places, principally at Mount Union. M. Clay Rorer received his education at the Mount Union schools. A son of Adam Rorer, deceased, and Laura (Himes) Rorer. At present he is managing clerk for the Kistler Co-operative Store, located at Kistler, Mifflin Co., Pa. An extensive business is carried on in meats, provision, dry goods, notions, etc. For the past seven years he has been consecutively been employed by this company, and has given a good account of his ability. He formerly was a rock inspector for the Harbison-Walker Refractories Co., and was a burnt brick foreman with the same company. He is a steward in the Methodist Episcopal church; also a teacher in the Sunday School; he has served as clerk on the election board. A Republican in politics. A member of the I.O.O.F., No. 677, Mount Union, Pa. He has two brothers, Hubert D. with the P.R.R. Co. at Mount Union, Pa.; Glenn C., with Timkin Axle Plant, Detroit, Michigan. Two sister: Zelma M., married to Frank Saylor, Mount Union, Pa.; Margaret B., at home. M. Clay Rorer was married to Mabel Bratton, of Mount Union, Pa. Hunting is his favorite sport. He is a stockholder in the Realty Corporation of the Juniata Colony Club. Through his efficient management and his care and attention to business, Mr. Rorer has met with abundant success.
