W. H. RUDY Porter Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Valley Inn: Mrs. W. H. Rudy was born at McAlevy's Fort, and raised on a farm, a daughter of John Harmon, a farmer, of Saulsburg, Huntingdon County, Pa. Jackson Harmon was her grandfather. He was steward at the Huntingdon County Home. Her mother, before marriage was Francisca Bigelow, now living at Saulsburg, Pa. Her father was Dr. Elieph Bigelow, and her brother was Dr. James Bigelow, of McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon County, Pa. Her mother, before marriage, was Leah Weidman. Mrs. W. H. Rudy began her first schooling at McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon County, Pa. She also attended Stone Valley Academy. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy farmed at Waterstreet and Neff's Mills. In 1924 they established a service station on the William Penn Highway, about midway between Huntingdon and Alexandria, Pa., called the Valley Inn, where they serve hot and cold lunches, ice cream and soft drinks; have a tea room, rooms for over-night tourists; operate a gas and service station - have four pumps. They belong to the Lutheran Church at Waterstreet, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Mr. Rudy was on the election board at Alexandria, Pa. He is a member of the P.O.S. of A. of Alexandria, Pa. They both favor the Republican party. She has five brothers: Fred Harman, Nebraska; James, at Remsen, Iowa; also Mark, at the same place. They are farmers. Brown, at Rock Springs, Centre County, Pa., a farmer, and Oliver, a farmer at Manor Hill, Huntingdon County, Pa. Her sisters are: Mary Rudy, McAlevy's Fort; Clara Renaud, Washington state, and Maud Harman, at home. Mr. Rudy's brothers are Martin, a farmer, at Ennisville, Huntingdon County, Pa.; Carl, also a farmer, at State College, Pa. Sisters are Mamie, married to John Gardner; Nannie, married to Dan Gates, Hershey, Pa., farmers. Samuel Rudy was the father of W. H. Rudy. His mother, before marriage, was Isabel Grissinger, of York County, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Rudy have four sons: John, at home, a painter; Ralph, married to Olive Davis, Waterstreet, Pa., who have one daughter, Betty Rudy; Leah, married to Herman Wakefield, Lewistown, Pa., who is with the Penna. R.R. Their children are Blanche, Jane and Joyce. Another daughter, Clara, was married to Harry Morder. Their children are Louise Betty, Thema and John. Ray and Mark are at home. William H. Rudy, 58, Dora M. Rudy, 54, James M. Rudy, 21, and Ray H. Rudy, 18, appear in the 1930 Porter Township, Huntingdon County census. William Rudy, 47, Dora M. Rudy, 43, John S.
