RUPERT Huntingdon, Pa. Penna. R.R. Janitor: He was born at Mill Creek, Pa., May 4, 1875, a son of Samuel Rupert, who was a Civil War veteran, with the 16th Penna. Cavalry; was a quartermaster, and fought at Gettysburg, Pa. He was also a farmer; he was born January 17, 1840,; died April 17, 1910. He married Eliza J. Hagey; she too is deceased. Walter M. Rupert began his preliminary schooling at Mill Creek, Pa., after which the family moved to Huntingdon, where he attended the Fourth Ward schools. He is a glass blower by trade; was for ten years at Jeanette, Pa., following his trade. He was a Huntingdon borough police officer from 1906 to 1910. He has been with the Penna. R.R. as officer for twenty-two years; for three years was stationed at Mount Union, Pa., and for six months was stationed at Lewistown, Pa. He is a member of the Methodist Church of Tyrone, Pa.; his wife also. He belongs to the Jr. O.U.A.M., Crystal Council No. 300, Jeanette, Pa. A Republican in politics. He has one brot her, William, a salesman, Jeanette, Pa. Charles is deceased; died at Little Rock, Arkansas, July 16, 1922, at the age of fifty-two years. Three sisters: Dessie, Steubenville, Ohio; Myrtle, Akron, Ohio; Nellie, Juniata Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Walter Rupert was married to Katie Cole, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Cole; she is deceased; died December 22, 1921. One son, Robert, married to Violet Herron; they reside at Altoona, Pa.; he is with the Penna. R.R. Walter Rupert remarried to Roseland Williams, a daughter of Joshua Williams, of Tyrone, Pa.
