President Wilson-Garner Company: He was born at Letonia, Ohio; his forefathers settled in Mifflin County, Pa. A son of Charles Henry and Elizabeth (Landis) Sayers. They were married at Lewistown, Pa. Both are deceased, the father dying July 11, 1919, and the mother January 12, 1926. Neil Bertolette Sayers attended the schools of Wayne township, Mifflin Co., Pa. He later on in life became associated with the General Refractories Company of Mount Union, Pa.; remained for fourteen years as foreman; also with the United States Refractories Company of Mount Union, Pa., for four years, and also foreman with the Haws Refractories Company at Hawstone, Mifflin County, Pa., for a period of two years, after which he took over the auto garage of the Wilson-Garner Company. He greatly enlarged the plant putting in all necessary and modern machinery. Installed a complete car washing department, using the reinforced water system; sells the Hudson and Essex cars, selling and exchanging used cars. Has a force of mechanics. Built an annex for office purposes. Has at all times a service wrecking car. Erected and installed storage tanks at east end of Mount Union with a capacity of twelve thousand gallons, using Metro Gas; wholesale and retail provision is made for additional tankage. He was married to Grace N. Berlew, a daughter of Maurice and Elizabeth Berlew, of Mount Union, Pa. Both he and his wife are members of the Methodist Church of Mount Union, Pa.; also attend Sunday School and take an interest in all that pertains to the church and the community. He has one brother, Alan L., Mifflin County, Pa. Neil B. Sayers is a Republican. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, No. 688, Mount Union, Pa.; Harrisburg Consistory; Knight Templar; a Shriner, Jaffa Temple, Altoona, Pa. Member of the A.A.A. and Juniata Valley County Club, Mount Union, Pa., Chamber of Commerce, Mount Union Club. A busy man. At present is installing pumps at various places, wholesaleing Metro Gas, to dealers. When time permits, which is seldom, it finds him hunting and fishing. Neil Sayers is among the type of business men who are bound to succeed.
