C. Shenefelt Smithfield Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Proprietor Riverside Garage: Born at Raystown Branch, November 1, 1880, on a farm. A son of J. H. Shenefelt, a retired farmer, and of Maryetta (Watson) Shenefelt. Both are living. M. C. Shenefelt was for four years a fireman for the Penna. R.R. He was with the Aetna Explosives Company; also a cab driver. In 1918 he opened for the public a service station known as the Riverside Garage, a neat and commodious building, very attractive to the tourist and public; has all conveniences for repairing; carrying a line of accessories, etc., air, water and toilet, everything for the tourist; also rooms for overnight tourists. Mr. Shenefelt is a member of the Abbey reformed church; his wife also. He belongs to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. the A.A.A. and the Gasoline Dealers' Association. Votes the Republican ticket. He has two brothers; B. C. Shenefelt, married to Ettie Putt; she is deceased. Watson Shenefelt was married to Esther Corbin, of Juniata township. He has three sisters, Mrs. Martha Cooper, Altoona, Pa.; husband an auto mechanic; Mrs. Emma Rupert, Altoona, Pa.; he is an engineer with Penna R.R.; Mrs. Grace Corbin; her husband is a stationary engineer at the J.C. Blair Stationery Company, Huntingdon, Pa. M. C. Shenefelt was married to Sarah Hamer, a daughter of Moses K. and Martha Hamer; both are deceased. Mr. Shenefelt has ample facilities for the carrying on of this business, using four gasoline pumps for the public. Note: Miles C. Shenefelt, 49, garage proprietor, and Sara N. Shenefelt, 43, are listed in the 1930 Smithfield Township, Huntingdon County census.
