Swigart, associated with Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa., and of Carrie (Miller) Swigart, both living at Huntingdon, Pa., in recent years spending a portion of their time in Florida. Paul J. Swigart graduated in 1907 from Juniata College, Taught school one year, at Finleyville, Bedford Co., Pa., and one year at Pleasantville, Bedford Co., Pa. Was a merchant at Towner, Colorado; postmaster at Towner from 1912 to 1916; belongs to Presbyterian Sunday school and church, Alexandria; is Sunday School Superintendent; served on school board, Alexandria, Pa.; was United States Food Administrator of Kiowa County, Colorado: is a Mason; Scottish Rite Consistory; El Jebel Shrine, Denver, Colorado. Adheres to the principles of the Republican party. Has one brother, W. Emmert Swigart, of the Swigart-Harshbarger Insurance Co., Huntingdon, Pa. Paul J. Swigart was married to Lucille M. Summerville, of Valley Falls, Kansas. Children are: Shelly S., fourteen years; William J., eleven years, and Pauline L., nine years. Mr. Swigart prefers golf as his outdoor pastime. Alexandria is benefited by having in its midst such men as the type of the subject of this sketch. He is a live, progressive business man, actively supports all measures tending to advance borough and county interests, and is an honored and esteemed citizen.
