THOMAS Shirleysburg, Pa. Telegraph Operator: He was born at Duncannon, Pa., Oct. 10, 1896. A son of A.D. Thomas, whose father, John A., Thomas, was a Civil War veteran; he is buried at Duncannon, on soldiers' plot. A. D. Thomas died Oct. 3, 1906, at the age of forty-six years. His wife was Susan A. Moss, who died in August, 1897, at the age of thirty-seven years. Harry R. Thomas received his education at the grade township schools and at the Duncannon High School; for two years he was a contract painter, and for seven years was with the Standard Novelty Works at Duncannon, Pa.; for fourteen years he has been telegraph operator for the Tuscarora Oil Co., at their pumping station at Aughwick, Huntingdon Co., Pa. He belongs to he Presbyterian Church of Shirleysburg, Pa.; his wife also. He is an elder and clerk of sessions, and is Superintendent of the Sunday School. Was a telegraph operator during the World War. A Republican in politics. He has three brothers: Newton H., married to Lydia Wright, Duncannon, Pa.; Edward, married to Helen Fissell, Speeceville, Pa.; Lewis, at home, a painter. Reuben B., died July 5, 1929, at the age of forty years. He was struck on the head with a base ball twenty years ago, which was the cause of his death. He has three sisters: Mrs. Samuel Miller and Mrs. Lewis Thomas, both of Harrisburg; their husbands are painters at the Penn- Harris Hotel; and Mrs. Elmer Holland, with the Penna. R.R. Harry R. Thomas married Florence Whittaker, a daughter of A. J. and Carrie Whittaker. They have one daughter, Joan, four months old, and one son, Alburtus William, four years old.
