TRUAX Robertsdale, Pa. Postmistress: Formerly known as such, but to-day they are classed as postmasters. Mrs. Lucy A. Truax was born at Enid, Fulton County, Pa, and at Enid, the place of her birth, she began her first schooling. She is the daughter of Joseph M. Truax, who died in 1909, and of Ella (Shope) Truax, now living at Robertsdale, Huntingdon County, Pa. She attended the Robertsdale High School; also the Rock Hill Academy, taking a teacher's course. She received her appointment as postmaster on February 28, 1929, under the Hoover administration; she was acting as assistant to her sister, Viola, who was married to Alvie Van Orman, of Altoona, after which she received the appointment as postmaster. Her brother, Alvah M. Truax, is her assistant. Miss Truax has conducted the affairs of this office in a creditable manner. Formerly this office was difficult to operate owing to he many different nationalities, whose names were confusing, but to-day this has to a great extent been eliminated. Miss Truax belongs to the Methodist Episcopal Church of Robertsdale, Pa.; is Secretary of Young Peoples' Department of the Sunday School. Besides her brother and sister already mentioned, are Ora, married to Meade Barnett, Defiance, Huntingdon County, Pa.; Gladys, married to Earl Drake, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pa. Miss Truax has gained the admiration of the community and surrounding territory.
