Paymaster: Rock Hill Coal and Iron Co. A son of Smith Wachob, who died in 1906, aged seventy years, and of Catherine (Bence) Wachob, now living at Windber, Somerset Co., Pa., eighty-three years of age. Charles Hubble Wachob was born at Olean, Cattaraugus Co., New York, June 27, 1890. His preliminary education was at the Punxsutawney High School, until 1907. Was for a time engaged at clerical work in a bakery. To further advance his knowledge along business lines, he took a course at Peterson's Business College, Punxsutawney, Pa.; was with the Eureka Supply Co., Windber, Pa., and for four years with the Berwind-White Coal Mining Co, cost department. In 1915 he accepted a position with the Rock Hill Coal and Iron Co., Robertsdale, Huntingdon Co., Pa., as paymaster, the position he now holds. He is the representative of the Swigart-Harshbarger Co., of Huntingdon, Pa., insurance, life, fire, auto accident, etc. At present is auditor for Wood township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. During the World War was with the company he now represents. Mr. Wachob is interested in Church and Sunday School work; both he and his wife are members of the Methodist Church; formerly he was secretary of the official board, M.E. Church, Windber, Pa.; now are members of the Methodist Church at Robertsdale; is secretary of Sunday School. He belongs to the Masonic fraternity, Cromwell Lodge, No. 572, Orbisonia, Pa.; Harrisburg Consistory; a Shriner, Jaffa Temple, Altoona, Pa. A Republican in politics. One brother deceased, John Wachob. Charles Hubble Wachob was married to Ethel Williams, a daughter of David and Margaret Williams. Two sons and one daughter have come to bless this union: Harry Milton, fourteen years of age, eighth grade; John Albert, nine years of age, third grade, and Ruth Elizabeth, seven years of age. Mr. Wachob is an energetic man, one who is a valuable asset to any community.
