Tonsorial Artist: He was born at New Grenada, Pa. A son of Thomas Watkins, of Welsh descent, and of Frances Watkins, residing at Cassville, Pa. He acquired his elementary education at New Grenada, Pa.; has followed up various pursuits such as farming, brickyards and driver in mines; at present is a barber or tonsorial artist. He is treasurer of the Sunday School, also secretary, at Coles, and attends the Methodist church. He served in the World War; enlisted at Huntingdon, Pa., June 21, 1918; went to Camp Lee, Va., in Co. Depot Brigade, Co. B, replacement Battalion; was transferred to Camp Meigs, Washington, D.C., attached to 4th Co., Inf.; was part time auto mechanic for officers' cars. He is treasurer of the United Mine Workers of America; is Sergeant-at-Arms of Watson Black Post, American Legion. Votes the Republican party ticket, if it is well-balanced. He was previously located on a farm near New Grenada. He has three brothers living: John F. Watkins, Cassville, Pa.; Ernest N., Cassville, Pa.; Doyle is deceased. Sisters are: Gertrude L. Sergeant, Cassville, Pa.; Olive Watkins, a sister, is deceased. Cloyd Zalda Watkins was married to Lillius M. Black. Their children are: Dolores, seven years; Wayne, five years; Florine, three years. He is an ardent sportsman and prefers hunting and fishing. He was appointed Mercantile Appraiser for Huntingdon Co., Pa., Jan. 15, 1930.
