T. WEAVER Saltillo, Pa. Retired: H. T. Weaver was born in York County, Pa., near the Maryland State line, October 1, 1856. A son of Dr. Phillip Weaver; he read medicine, after which he practiced as a homeopathist. In 1863 he began practicing at Saltillo, and in 1865 entered the Federal Army, remaining in the service until the close of the Civil War. He died August 22, 1895, at the age of seventy-five years. His wife before her marriage was Belinda La Motte, who died September 3, 1904, at the age of eighty- one years; they were of German-French ancestry. General Lafayette paid a visit to her great-grandmother on his last visit to this country. H. T. Weaver was but a year old when his parents moved to Huntingdon County, and was educated in the public schools of this county. At the age of fourteen years he learned milling and continued until he was thirty years of age, at Burnt Cabins, Fulton County, and Saltillo, Pa. In October, 1889, he engaged in the mercantile business in Saltillo, Pa. His stock of goods was destroyed by fire in October, 1893; he erected a new, substantial building, to take the place of the one destroyed; for eighteen years he was in the mercantile business, coal business, and had a steam saw mill. He was postmaster during Cleveland's administration, for four years. He has been a school director and councilman; was a director of the First National Bank of Orbisonia; is now Vice-President of the same bank. He is a Mason, Cromwell Lodge, Orbisonia, Pa., No. 572. As to politics, a Democrat. He has three sisters: Mary, married to Austin Green, deceased; Elizabeth, married to J. C. Brewster, both deceased; Nancy, deceased. H. T. Weaver was married October 19, 1882, to Myrtle Cohill, a daughter of George Cohill; she died April 3, 1929. Two sons: Harold Grey, married to Genevieve Furbish; he is a salesman, Philadelphia, Pa.; Edgar L., married to Mary Holden; she was from Hawthorne, Florida; they reside at Saltillo, Pa. He is engaged in the coal business, wholesale and retail. Two daughters: Ethel G., at home; Lillian, married to Marion McNeal, Philadelphia, Pa. Mr. Weaver is now retired, living in a beautiful home. His success was brought about by strict attention to business. Note: Henry T. Weaver, 63, Martha L. Weaver, 59, Ethel G. Weaver, 34, and Maie L. McNeil, 24, are listed in the 1920 Saltillo, Huntingdon County census. Henry J. [T.] Weaver, 53, Martha L. Weaver, 49, Ethel G. Weaver, 24, Edward L. Weaver, 20, and Lillian M Weaver, 14, are listed in the 1910 Clay Township, Huntingdon County census.
