Barber: Harry Eliazer Webb was not altogether a wanderer upon the face of the earth, but covered a good portion thereof. Harry Webb is Petersburg's tonsorial artist, or better known as a barber. He was born at McConnellstown, Huntingdon Co., Pa., May 24, 1862, and from there we go to Warren County, Illinois, where he began to shape his future career. Here he began his schooling. His father was John P. Webb and his mother Sarah (Simpson) Webb. The father was born in York Co., Pa., and died in August, 1915, aged seventy-eight years. The mother was born on what are known as the Lick Ridges, Huntingdon County, Pa. She died in September, 1904, being aged sixty-three years. Both are buried at Hamlet, New York; American born. Harry Webb had farmed in Madison County, Nebraska, for fifteen years. He followed the barber profession at Buffalo, New York, for ten years; Williamsburg, Pa., five years; Alexandria, five years, and at his present location for ten years; has been a barber for forty-five years; followed journalistic work in Western States. He attended Rathburn Business College, Omaha, Nebraska, in 1894. Is a Presbyterian; also a member of the Sunday School. Helped along the Liberty Loan drives; also Red Cross and Salvation Army drives. Belongs to Petersburg Fire Company. A Republican in politics. Three brothers: William H., Maderia, California; James W., Protection, New York; John Charles, Derry, N.Y. Sisters are: Mrs. Henry Turner, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Miss Jane Webb, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Mrs. Rebecca Newell and Mrs. Lucinda Vondack, deceased. Mr. Webb was married to Elizabeth Patterson, Williamsburg, Pa. He is a well known man, and besides the barber business, carries a line of periodicals and magazines. Baseball is his sport.
