Merchant: The Wibles have long held a prominent place in Huntingdon County, A thrifty, industrious class of people, and among them is Jesse Wible, born in Springfield township, Huntingdon County, Pa, June 17, 1886, and at Madden's School House was imparted to him the first rudiments of an education. John G. Wible was his father, and his mother before her marriage was Evaline Madden, deceased. Jesse Wible attended the Shade Gap Normal School and also the Rock Hill Summer School during the terms of 1910 to 1914. Has taught school in Clay township and Three Springs borough, making a period of six years. He was for nine years engaged as clerk to B. F. Godard, and Clay Park, of Three Springs, Pa. At present is engaged in the general merchandise line at Mapleton; enjoys a lucrative trade. For two years committeeman for Mapleton Depot and for four years on City Council; eight years on School Board. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, No. 688, Mount Union, Pa.; Harrisburg Consistory. Is an Odd Fellow; a member of the P.O.S. of A. Brothers are: Allison A., Edward Frank and Scott, all of Three Springs, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Lillian, Weltha, and Charles Wesley, deceased. Jesse Wible was married to Nellie F. Heeter, of Three Springs, Pa; one daughter, Mary K. Bernard, is deceased. Walter assists his father in store; he is a graduate of Mount Union High School, class of 1927, and Jesse Wible, Jr. Mr. Wible is one of Mapleton's dependable business men.
