Merchant: John Elden Wible, of Three Springs, Huntingdon Co., Pa., was born in Springfield township, April 23, 1891, and raised on the farm; remained until twenty years of age; began his early schooling in Springfield township. A son of Elliott R. and Annie (Madden) Wible, residing at Three Springs; owns three farms, 450 acres. John Wible was for three years an auto salesman for Charles Huston, Three Springs, Pa. Went to Kewannee, Illinois; in shops of National Tube Works for three years; at Robertsdale, with the E.B.T.R.R., for a period of six years; established mercantile business at Three Springs six years ago; carries a general line of groceries, dry goods, shoes, clothing, notions, etc. He belongs to the United Brethren Church; a teacher in the Sunday School Bible Class; has served on election board. A Republican in politics. Has three brothers: Geo. W., married to Vergie Snyder, Three Springs; Chester A., married to Edna Long, Three Springs, and Henry Clay, married to May Shore, Clay township. John Elder Wible was married to Olive C. Fleck, of Three Springs; have one daughter, Ruth Estella, eleven years, at school. Mr. Wible, like the other Wibles, comes of an industrious ancestry; are well known and much respected; they have taken the place of their ancestors and continue on, upholding the traditions of the Wible clan.
