E. OLIVER WINTERS Saltillo, Pa. Instructor: Huntingdon County has many excellent instructors, and among them is Prof. E. Oliver Winters, Principal of the Saltillo schools. Teaching is his profession. He was Assistant Superintendent of Huntingdon County Schools in 1924. Prof. Winters was born in Fulton County, Pa., October 25, 1897, and in Thompson township began the mysteries of an early education. A son of George A. and Emma (Ranck) Winters, both living to-day. Has attended Cumberland Valley State Teachers College, 1921, and Juniata College, 1928. Has taught in Fulton County, and Huntingdon County, eight years. All his life has been receiving instruction, or imparting instruction. The following are the brothers: W. Homer, of Altoona; Otis L., of Hancock, Md.; Glenn and Harold, Hancock, Md. Sisters are: Wreatha L., Cleveland, Ohio, and Cora, of Altoona, Pa. He is a Republican in politics. He married Lydia R. Humbert at McConnellsburg, Fulton Co., Pa. Three children: Donald, nine years; Glenn, six years, and Merle, two years. Baseball is his sport. Prof. Winters is a strict disciplinarian; he takes an interest in instructing his pupils and in the community where he resides; he has the confidence and respect of all and is interested in the public welfare. As an instructor he ranks high in this profession, and through being Assistant Superintendent of Huntingdon County's school's has gained considerable knowledge along educational lines.
