All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm __________________________________________ Record Book U-1 p. 366 ELIZABETH LEE & JAMES LEE TO ABRAHAM ZIMMERMAN This Indenture made the twenty-third day of February eighteen hundred and twenty-seven Between Elizabeth Lee & James Lee both of Hopewell township in the County of Huntingdon and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the one part and Abraham Zimmerman of the township aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Elizabeth & James for and in consideration of the sum of fifty nine dollars and twenty cents, lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said Abraham at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Have granted granted, bargained, sold, aliened (?), enfeoffed, released & confirmed, and by these presents Do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Abraham Zimmerman all the following described piece or parcel of land, situate in Hopewell township in the County aforesaid, beginning at a sugar tree on the line of Daniel Stouffer's land (now said Zimmerman's) thence twenty-six perches across the meadow to a walnut near the meadow fence, thence seventeen perches to the corner of the meadow towards Ludwick Hoover's line to a post, thence twenty seven perches to a post a(?) corner of Stouffer's & Hoover's line, thence twenty-eight perches along Stouffer's line to the place of beginning, containing three acres and one half and thirty two perches nett measure. (Being part of a larger tract of land surveyed in the name of James Dalton in pursuance of a warrant dated the second day of June A.D. 1762 & which by sundry conveyances & assurances in the law became vested in Robert Lee the husband of the said Elizabeth & father of the said James. And the said Robert Lee by his last Will & Testament devised & bequeathed the same to the said James Lee. And the said James by Deed bearing date the 20th day of March A.D. 1817 granted & conveyed eighty six acres & fourteen perches of said tract of land to his brother Robert Lee, who by his last Will & Testament devised & bequeathed the same to his mother Elizabeth Lee, who by Articles of Agreement entered into between her & the said James Lee agreed to grant & convey the same to the mentioned quantity of three acres & one half & thirty two perches is measured off.) Together with all & singular the buildings, improvements, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions & remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof. To Have and To Hold the before mentioned & described three acres & one half & thirty two perches of land nett measure unto the said Abraham Zimmerman his heirs & assigns to & for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said Elizabeth & James for themselves their heirs, executors & administrators do hereby convent, promise, grant & agree to and with the said Abraham his heirs and assigns by these presents that the before described tract or parcel of land containing three acres and one half & thirty two perches unto the said Abraham his heirs, exectors, administrators & assigns, against themselves the said Elizabeth & James Y& their heirs, executors & administratotors & against all & every other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands & seal the day & year first hereinbefore written.
