All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Eleanor Blumenschein je_blumen@cox.net October 20, 2007, 10:27 pm Written: April 1, 1859 Recorded: April 3, 1872 Deed Enos McMullen and wife to Benjamin Beers This Indenture made the first day of April A.D. in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine, Between Enos McMullen and Cassander his wife of Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, and State of Pennsylvania of the one part, and Benjamin Beers of said Township, County and State of the other part, Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand Dollars current money, by the said Benjamin Beers to the said Enos McMullen, and Cassander his wife, in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which they do hereby acknowledge, the said Enos McMullen and Cassander his wife, hath bargained and sold, aliened and enfeoffed, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey, and convey and confirm unto the said Benjamin Beers his heirs and assigns, all the tract of land or parcel of land situated in Cromwell Township, and County of Huntingdon and State of Pennsylvania and contained within the following metes and bounds courses and distances to wit: Beginning at a Rock-Oak on Sadleback and running North seven degrees West, Sixty seven rods to a Sycamore, Thence North Sixty seven degrees West twenty nine road to a Sycamore; thence North Eighty six degrees West fifteen rods to a Post thence South forty two degrees West forty two rods to a Sycamore; thence South seventy nine West fifty-six rods to an Elm; thence North Seventy eight degrees West eight and a half rods to a Post; thence North Eighty one degrees West twelve and a half rods to a Sycamore; thence South eighty degrees West fifty and a half rods to a Maple; thence South fifty one degrees West forty eight rods to a Hickory; thence south thirty degrees West ten and a forth rods to a Hickory; thence South thirty eight degrees ten rods to a Hickory; thence fifty six degrees East fourteen rods a Post; thence North thirty eight and a half degrees East thirty eight and a forth rods to a Post; thence East two hundred and six rods to a Rock Oak the place of beginning. bounded on the South by lands of Benjamin Beers, on the East by lands of Benjamin Beers and on the North by the Aughwick Creek and on the West by the Aughwick Creek, and on the South East by the land of Peter Ripple. Said tract of land contains Fifty Acres more or less, being a part of the Joseph Griffith and Joseph Symons survey. Said tract of land was surveyed to Benjamin Beers by the said Enos McMullen April first A.D. 1859, together with all and singular, the buildings, improvements, waves, waters, water-courses, right, privileges, advantages and appurtenances thereto belonging, or in any wise appurtaining, and all the estate, right, title and interest, the said Enos McMullen and Cassander his wife have conveyed all their right, title and interest forever to, or in said tract of land aboved described to Benjamin Beers his heirs and assigns forever. To have and to hold the said tract of land above described with the appurtenances hereunto belonging unto the said Benjamin Beers his heirs and assigns forever. And also, that the said Enos McMullen and Cassander his wife, their heirs and assigns, the tract or parcel of land and premises aboved described and herein mentioned to be granted, bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Benjamin Beers his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents against the claims of all persons whomsoever. In Testimony Whereof, the said Enos McMullen and Cassander his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
