All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ MARTIN ROP TO PHILIP CURFMAN This Indenture made the fourteenth day of August year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety seven Between Martlin Rop of the County of York in the State of Pennsylvania of the one part and Philip Curfman of the County of Huntingdon in State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Martin Rop for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty pounds gold and silver money of Pensylvania to him paid by the said Philip Curfman at and before the Sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by their presents doth grant bargan sell release and confirm unto the said Philip Curfman his heirs and assigns all that certain tract of Land laying on the Wasters of Little Trough Creek situate in Union Township on the County of Huntingdon and State of Pennsylvania beginning at a white oke adjoining Robert Clugdge's survey thence North one degree West one hundred and fifty four perchies to a pine adjoining Robert Clugages survey thence North fifty nine degress East one hundred and five perchies to a white pine running alond and admoining Thirleys [Shirley's] Knob or round top hill thence South seventeen degrees East one hundred and fifty perchies to a White oke thence South twenty five degrees East twenty four perchies to a Chesnut Oke thence South fourteen degrees West sixty two perchies to a Chestnut and thence adjoining Robert Galbreith to the beginning thence South Sixty five degrees West forty one perchies to a Red Oke thence South thirty eight degrees West sixty two perchies to a black oke thence South eighty two perchies degrees West fifty eight perchies to a Chesnut Oke South fifteen degrees West twenty seven perchies to a Black Oke thence North thirty two degrees West twenty eight perches to a white oke North one degree West ninety nine perches to a White oke thence North eighty nine degrees East thirty four perchies to the beginning containing one hundred and ninety nine acres and one hundred and thirteen perchies of Land and allowance for Roads &c being land that was conveyed to Martin Rop by James Arhman and to James Arhman by Richard Grove & Reagen Davis was surveyed by John Cannon the eight day of August 1792. Agreeable to Warrant granted to Richard Grove the fourth day of June 1792 and returned in the Surveyor Generals office of the above State and Patton granted also with all and singular the buildings improvements way lanes pasager wood waters water courses rights liberties privilegies heridetriments and appurtinancies whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions and remainders rents _____ and profits thereof and all the Estate Rights title interest property claim ad demand whatsoever which was of the said Martin Rop parto herto of in and to the same as every parts and parcel thereof to bind and to hold the said tract of land above described and granted or mentioned and intended to be with all and singular the appertenancies unto the said Phillip Curfman his Heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Phillip Curfman his heirs and assigns for ever and the said Martin Rop for himself his heirs executors and administrators doeth c___ant grant and agree to and with the said Phillip Curfman his heirs and assigns that he the said Martin Rop and his heirs the said tract of Land heredetriments and premisies above described and granted with all and singular the appurtenancies unto him the said Phillip Curfman his heris and assigns against him the said Martin Rop and his heirs and against all and every other person and persons whosoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof by from or under him them or any of them or by from or under the said Martin Ropp aforesaid shall and will warrant and for ever defend their presents In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
