Witnessth, that the said David Stevens for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds good and lawful money of the state of Pennsylvania to him in hand & paid at the time of the execution hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the said George King his heirs & assigns all that of lande situate in the township of _____(blank) in the county of Huntingdon joining Londeney land on the north east, & George King's old place on the east and joining lands taken up by Right and Hobble on the west & Homs & Clark on the South including an improvement and containinabe two hundred acres be the same more or less. It being the same tract of land James Picket sold to Frances Whiting by a bill of sale bearing the date the nineteenth day of Feburary one thousand seven hundred & eighty eight seventy eight and by one other instrument in wrighting from Frances Whiteing es to Hethcut Picket bearing date Sepbr 5th one thousand and seven hundred and eighty two - and by one other instrument in writing from Hethcut Picket to the aforesaid David Stevens bearing date the twentenith day of Novbr one thousand seven hundred & eighty three [then in the County of Bedford now in the county of Huntingdon which the said David Stevens hath obtained a liberty to take an office right but doth not agree to do the same] Together with all singular the rights liberties priveiledges immunities herein a aments and apprutenances whatsoever to the same belonging & the reversions unto issues and profets thereof and all the estate right title & interest either at law or in equity of him the said Davis Stevens of into & out of the same - to have & hold all & singular the hereby granted premises with the apprutenances unto the said unto the said George King his heirs & assigns to his & their only proper use & behoof forever & the said David Stevens & his heirs all and singular the hereby granted premises with the apprutenancies unto the said George King his heirs & assigns against himself & his heirs & against all persons lawfully claiming by through from or under him shall & will warrant & forever defend in witness whereof the parties have hereto these presents set his hand and seal the day & year within written. Additional Comments: Spelling and punctuation transcribed as written from copy of original indenture, secured from the Huntingdon Co. Court House. This instrument mentions previous owner's: James Picket, Francis Whitling, Hethcut Picket and David Stevens. These transactions are recorded in Bedford Co. as they occurred prior to Sept. 20, 1787 when Huntingdon County was formed. The transaction between David Stevens and George King in 1796 is the first sale transaction recorded for this parcel in Huntingdon County.
