Alesi Former Co-Owner, Operator of County Line Inn Mary W. Alesi, 77, of 200 W. Market St., Mount Union, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at her home, following a year-long battle with cancer. Born Oct. 25, 1921, in Kistler, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Fern and Gertrude (Booher) Drake. She was united in marriage to Anthony J. Alesi May 30, 1946. He preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1989. Mrs. Alesi is survived by a son, John L. Alesi of Mount Union. There are two grandsons and a great-granddaughter. The following brothers and sisters survive: Martha Ross of Ryde, Jenevieve Suders of Mount Union, Fern Drake of Orbisonia and Earl Drake of Orbisonia. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Hazel Ingram, Freda Krugh and Roy Drake. Mrs. Alesi was a member of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union. She was co-owner and operator of the County Line Inn in Mount Union from 1949 until 1974. She enjoyed cooking large family meals, spending time with her siblings and taking Sunday road trips to visit family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Elwood Figurelle and the Rev. Jeff Winstead officiating. Interment will be made in the St. Catherine's Cemetery, Shirleysburg, R. D. 1.
