Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, where she had been a patient for three weeks. She had been in failing health for the past year. She was born on Sept. 3, 1900, in Shermansdale, Perry County, the daughter of George W. and Mary (Smiley) Miller. She married Spangler L. Alexander of Yeagerstown in 1929, with the Rev. Waldo Cherry of the Presbyterian Church performing the ceremony. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1974. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A member of the Bethany Parish of the Orbisonia Presbyterian Church, she was also a member of the Mount Union Twentieth Century Club, the Mount Union Order of the Eastern Star No. 280, the Lower Huntingdon County Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Society of Farm Women. Mrs. Alexander had been a school teacher for 37 years in the Southern Huntingdon County school district before her retirement. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Raymond W. Ott Funeral Home, Orbisonia. The Rev. R. Bruce Shannon, Jr., her pastor, will officiate, and interment will be made in the Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg R.D.
