Monday. Feb. 11. 1974. at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing for two years and had been a a patient in the hospital for the past month. The deceased was born April 22, 1905, a son of Elmer and Sara (Beaver) Alexander. He was united in marriage to Sara Miller. Surviving are his wife; two brothers and a sister: Richard A. Alexander, Yeagertown; Lee Victor Alexander, Lewistown R.D. 3 and Mrs. Elizabeth Hess. He had served as a member of the town council of Shirleysburg for ten years. Alexander had been employed by the East Broad Top Railroad as a pattern maker for 25 years prior to his retirement. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, at 2 p.m. from the Ott funeral home, Orbisonia. The Rev. R. Bruce Shannon, Jr., his pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Haven Rest Memorial Park at Shirleysburg R.D. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m Wednesday and on Thursday until the hour of the services.
