Y., Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 14, 1847. He was born in Mount Union on April 1, 1916, the son of Richard and Sue (Whitsel) Ashman. Mr. Ashman served for 26 months with the United States Marines. He took part in five major engagements in the South Pacific area. The funeral service will be held at the Whitsel homestead in Hill Valley, Cromwell Township,, on Saturday at 2:30 p. m. Burial will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery. The Madden Wennick Post, American Legion, of Orbisonia will conduct military rites.
