Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born May 29, 1931. in Wood, he was the son of the late Wasco and Anna Berzansky. He married Dorothy Yablonski Dec. 1, 1960, in Saxton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and a son: Carol Black of Broad Top and Michael Berzansky of Martinsburg. There are four grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister and five brothers: Mary Coleman, Martinsburg, W.Va.; John Berzansky, Peekskill, N.Y.; Charles Berzansky, Boalsburg; Joe Berzansky, Wood; Nick Berzansky, Riddlesburg; and George Berzansky, Lorain, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue, and four brothers: Andrew, Mike, Alex and Steve. Mr. Berzansky was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Wood. A 1948 graduate of Robertsdale High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict. Following his military career, he returned to school, graduating from Shippensburg State College with a bachelor of science degree in 1957. He also received a master's degree in guidance counseling and was employed as a teacher at Tussey Mountain School District for 28 years, retiring in 1996. Mr. Berzansky enjoyed hunting, traveling, fishing. He caught a New Hampshire state record brown trout with a fly rod. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Kundla officiating. Interment will be made in St. Michael's Orthodox Cemetery, Wood. Gary X. "Huck" GUTSHALL, 63, of RD. 1, Box 36, James Creek, died Sunday. Aug. 5, 2001, at 7:15 am., at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He had been in failing health for the past seven months. Born April 18, 1938, in Barree, he was the son of the late Clair E. and Susan A. (Shoemaker) Gutshall. He married Connie Jean Miller, who survives at home. One son, Martin L. Gutshall of James Creek, RD. 1, and a granddaughter survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Nathan. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Jean Feltenberger, Huntingdon; Naomi Hickes, Tyrone; S. Mayetta Van Riper, Jacqueline Starrick, and Charlotta K. Gutshall, all of James Creek, R.D. 1; Patricia Ritz, Duncansville; and Richard Gutshall, James Creek, RD. 1. Two brothers, John and Edward, and a sister, Mary Miller, are deceased. Mr. Gutshall was of the Methodist faith. A 1955 graduate of Huntingdon High School, he was self-employed as a dairy farmer in Lincoln Township, taking over the family farm in 1960, after working with his father for a number of years. A member of the Marklesburg Fire Company, he enjoyed hunting. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m., at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. James L. Blair and the Rev. George "Buddy" Baird officiating. Interment will be made in the Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon, RD. 1. Myra Fae KLINE, 82, of Saltillo, died at 6:48 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Altoona General Hospital, Altoona. Born Feb. 4,1919, in Saltillo, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Ethel (Bolinger) Thomas. She married Lemar S. Kline June 10, 1947, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Kline survives at home, along with one daughter and a son: Linda Fae Drenning of Waterfall and Lew Alan "Joe" Kline, Hustontown. Also surviving are two brothers: Don Thomas of Saltillo and Vinton F. Thomas of Bethesda, Md. One brother, Ned Thomas. is deceased. A 1937 graduate of Saltillo High School, Mrs. Kline worked for an airplane factory in Detroit, Mich., during World War II. In her earlier years, she had also worked as a secretary for M.D. Blattenberger Electrical Co., Denton, Md. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. David Ford officiating. Interment will be made in the Saltillo Cemetery. Alverta 0. RAMSEY, 90, of Beacon Manor Nursing Home, Indiana, formerly of Saxton, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at 10 p.m., at the home, following an extended illness. Born May 23, 1911, in Saxton, she was the daughter of the late William Harrison and Rose (Bair) Weaver. She married Robert H. Ramsey June 22, 1931, in Hagerstown, Md. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1985. Surviving are two children: Mrs. Duane (Doris) Patterson of Blacklick and Kenneth Ramsey of Clay, N.Y. There are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One sister, Mary Foster of Huntingdon, also survives. She was preceded in death by four brothers. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of the Saxton First Church of God. She was a member of the Saxton VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Broad Top Area Senior Citizens. She retired from Tussey Mountain High School in 1973, after 14 years of service in the cafeteria. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m., at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor James E. Lynn officiating. Interment will be made in the Dudley Protestant Cemetery. Leona Marie DeVERTER, 79, of Huntingdon, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following a lengthy illness. Born in Wallace, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charlie B. and Geneva (Nunley) Stockton. She was the widow of Charles Franklin DeVerter, who preceded her in death in 1967. Surviving are two daughters: Sandra DeVerter of Marietta, and Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) Whitsel, Shirleysburg. There are two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. One sister, Margaret Wright of Lancaster, survives. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Clarence Stockton. Mrs. DeVerter had lived most of her life in Lancaster, working as a cook for the Boy Scouts of America and as a laborer for Haddad Shoe Co. Funeral services were held August 7 in Lancaster. Interment was made in the Riverview Burial Park. Rose E. LENTVORSKY, 89, of Port Matilda, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at her home. Born Sept. 5, 1911, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Olyar) Matis. She married Andrew E. Lentvorsky Nov. 6, 1927. He preceded her in death Sept. 3, 1972. Surviving are five daughters: Alverta R. Peters, Huntingdon; Martha E. O'Connor, Sandra J. Wenrick, Rose M. Reynolds and Robin L. Benner, all of Port Matilda. There are 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and, 27 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen L. Broome in February 1994, and a son, Andrew, in October 1998. One sister, Helen Hoy of Hublersburg, survives. Three sisters and three brothers are deceased. Mrs. Lentvorsky attended the Centre Hall and Port Matilda schools. She was a housekeeper for several families in State College for 28 years, retiring in 1982. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and gardening. She attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Forest. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Koch Funeral Home, State College, with the Rev. Carl E. Miller officiating. Interment will be made in Union Cemetery, Bellefonte. Leo Ray McGINNIS Sr., 54, of 216 E. Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at 1:30 am., at Pine Grove Mills, following an extended illness. Born Dec. 15, 1946, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Blair Daniel and Edna Amelia (Piper) McGinnis. His first union was to Alice Keller, who preceded him in death July 10, 1973. He then married Barbara Ellen Anderson Aug. 27, 1983, at the Mooresville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Macyweiser officiating. Mrs. McGinnis survives at home, along with five children: Howard McGinnis, Mifflintown; Leo R. McGinnis Jr., McAlevys Fort; Anthony McGinnis, Huntingdon; Mrs. Kenneth "Pete" (Annette) Morningstar, Alexandria; and James Anderson, Pine Grove Mills. There are seven grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters: Cleo Edmiston, Faye Hoffmaster and Mrs. Marlin (Ruth) Betts, all of Petersburg, Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Rupert of St. Raymond, Quebec; and Mrs. Charles (Audrey) Reed, Alexandria. He was preceded in death by a brother, Blair "Cub" McGinnis, and two sisters, Edna Mae Foster and Anna Lillian Himes. Mr. McGinnis was of the Lutheran faith. A 1964 graduate of Juniata Valley High School, he retired from Penn State University after 30 years of service in the warehouse. He had lived at his Pine Grove Mills home since 1983 and prior to that, he had been a lifelong resident of Petersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Juniata Valley Chapel, 412 Main St., Alexandria, with Pastor Steven C. Claycomb officiating. Interment will be made in the Mooresville Cemetery, Neffs Mills. Thelma M. McMULLEN, 92, of Whitehall Drive, Harrisburg, for the past three years, formerly of Orbisonia, died at noon Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in Harrisburg. Born April 10, 1909, in Shirleysburg, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Alma (Pecht) Crone. She was first married to Paul F. Collins Oct. 27, 1927. Mr. Collins preceded her in death Dec. 8, 1944. She then married Michael McMullen Sept. 3, 1951. Mr. McMullen survives in Altoona, along with the following children: Paul F. Collins, Scotland; Mrs. Wilbur (Alma G.) Locke, Hurricane, W.Va.; Mrs. Albert (Helen J.) Yednock, Harrisburg; Mrs. Anthony (Joan C.) Bosco, Felton, Del.; and William J. Collins, Columbus, Ohio. There are 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. One stepdaughter, Dorothy E. Anderson, and a sister, Helen Shingler Long, are deceased. Mrs. McMullen was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Mount Union Business and Professional Women's Club and served as first president of the Orbisonia High School Band Mothers Association. A graduate of Mount Union High School, she was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg during the last year of World War II. She later worked at Jaymes Jewelry Store in Mount Union and beginning in 1950, she owned and operated McMullen Furniture Co. in Mount Union with her husband for 30 years. Mrs. McMullen was devoted to her family and had a close relationship with her children and grandchildren until her illness intervened in her later years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. Rick Eminhizer officiating. Interment will be made in the Newton Hamilton Cemetery. James Wesley CAROLUS, 64, of RD. 3, Box 135, Juniata Township, Huntingdon, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at 8:45 am., at his Juniata Township home, following an extended illness. Born Dec. 4,1936, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, he was the son of the late John Wesley and Alberta Mae (Keith) Carolus. He married Cindy Ann Thompson May 14, 1965, at the Barree United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Yapple officiating. Mrs. Carolus survives at their Juniata Township residence. Also surviving are four siblings: Robert J. Carolus, Petersburg; Mrs. Kermit (Laura A.) Patterson. Huntingdon; Harvey B. Carolus, Alexandria; and Robert R. Port, Huntingdon. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie J. Danielak Oct. 19, 1999. Mr. Carolus was of the Protestant faith. A graduate of Juniata Valley High School with the Class of 1956, Mr. Carolus had a paint shop in Smithfield for a number of years. He also worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the 1970s. His last employment before his retirement was as a security guard at Elco Corp. and G.C. Murphy Co. He was a member of AARP and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Carolus served with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, obtaining the rank of sergeant. A lifetime resident of Huntingdon County, he had lived at his Juniata Township home for the past 36 years. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, 207 Ridge Rd., Smithfield, Huntingdon, with Pastor Donald E. Malliband officiating. Interment will be private in the Mooresville Cemetery, Neffs Mills. Pauline W. SNYDER, 85, of 108 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Mount Union, died at 9 am. Monday. Aug. 6, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born April 25, 1916, in Allenport, Mount Union, RD. 2, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Betsy (Isenberg) Worthing. She was united in marriage to Wendell L. Snyder Aug. 24, 1935, in Pittsburgh. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 1970. Surviving are a daughter and a son: Mrs. Leon (Loretta) Morgan, Hill Valley, Mount Union, RD. 1; and Robert E. Snyder, Poolesville, Md. There are nine grandchildren, one step-grandchild and 18 great-grandchildren. Two step-grandchildren are deceased. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Harold Worthing, Lillian Wolmi and Charles Worthing. She had been employed by several manufacturing companies for a number of years, including Letterkenny Army Depot. Chambersburg; Owens Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon; L. Greif Brothers Manufacturing, Mount Union; Robin Footwear, Mount Union; and Scotty's Fashions, Lewistown. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Singer's Gap United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Red Bud Quilt Guild of Huntingdon and the Bricktown Senior Citizens Center in Mount Union. She enjoyed making crafts and crocheting baptismal outfits for her grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Singer's Gap United Methodist Church, Hill Valley, with Pastor Jennifer L. Deutsch officiating. Interment will be made in the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Springfield Township, Huntingdon County. Sherri J. (Fleck) BANKS, 39, of Chattanooga, Tenn., died at 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at Centre Community Hospital, State College. She had been battling a serious illness for the past seven months. Born March 15, 1962, in Hershey, she was the daughter of the late Eugene M. and Shirley A. (Long) Fleck of Three Springs. She married John L. Banks Aug. 28, 1988, in Dallas, Texas. Surviving are her husband and five children: Wesley David Banks, St. Thomas; Leah Marie Banks, John Leland Eugene Banks, Austin Robert Banks and Dakota Paul Banks, all at home. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister: Mark Fleck, Sandra Brumbaugh and Mike Fleck, all of Three Springs. Mrs. Banks was a 1980 graduate of Southern Huntingdon County Christian School, Shade Gap, and graduated from Crums College in Manhattan, Kan. in 1985, with a degree in cosmetology. She was employed as a cosmetologist in Dallas, Texas, and Miami, Fla. Mrs. Banks was a member of the Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison, Tenn., where she was active in the Sunday School class. She also actively volunteered at Wallace Smith Elementary School, Chattanooga, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at Heritage Baptist Church, Three Springs, Friday, Aug. 10, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. C. David Larson officiating. Interment will be made in the Old School Baptist Cemetery, Three Springs. Richard Hoy CROUSE, 74, of Lebanon. Ky., died at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home, Lebanon, KY. Born July 16. 1927, in Shade Gaph he was the son of the late Ralph and Verna (Peterson) Crouse. He married Mayme Comstock, who preceded him in death. Surviving are four stepsons: David Comstock, Lexington. Ky.; Terry Comstock. Ricky Comstock and Michael Comstock, all of Pomona, Calif. A special friend, Bonnie Campbell of Lebanon. Ky., also survives. One brother, Robert Crouse, is deceased. Mr. Crouse was a US Navy veteran and a member of the Lebanon VFW and the Lebanon Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were held August 10 at the Bosley Funeral Home, in Lebanon. Ky., by the Rev. Neal Gordon. Masonic services were held yesterday. Interment was made in the Lebanon National Cemetery. Graveside military services were conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Hazel (Walls) HIMES, 91, a resident of The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at The Oaks. following a lengthy illness. Born Sept. 1, 1909, in Orbisonia. she was the daughter of the late John Harrison and Margaret Melinda (Shenefelt) Walls. She married the Hon. Swirles L. Himes, who preceded her in death. Surviving are a son and two daughters: James E. Himes and Sydney H. Miller, both of Huntingdon, and Sarah H. Feltham, Lititz. There are nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Mrs. Himes was a member of the Huntingdon Presbyterian Church. Educated in the Orbisonia Public School, she studied at Juniata College and graduated from Shippensburg Normal School. Prior rearing a family, she was a teacher. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Lawyers Wives Organization and the Standing Stone Chapter of DAR. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Doris NOTESTINE, 76, a resident of the Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg, formerly of Saxton, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at the retirement center, following an extended illness. Born Nov. 25, 1924, in Saxton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Thompson) Metzgar. She married Harry C. Notestine Oct. 29, 1945, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death May 10, 1996. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers: Evelyn Stapleton, Lester Metzgar and Vernon F. Metzgar. Mrs. Nntestine was of the Protestant faith. A graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School, she was a homemaker and for several years worked at Dr. CL. Isenberg's office in Saxton. She was a member of the Saxton Chapter No. 161, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as worthy matron in 1964. She enjoyed hunting and was a collector of various items. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m., at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor John Robinson officiating. Jacquelyn Ruth SPIELMAN, 66, of Donahoe Manor Road, Bedford, formerly of Everett, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Donahoe Manor Born Dec. 28, 1934, in Hopewell Township, she was the daughter of the late Sara Belle Lewis, who preceded her in death Jan. 7, 2000. One daughter, Lori J. Spielman of Bedford, survives. Mrs. Spielman attended the Everett Assembly of God. A 1952 graduate of Robert P Smith High School, Yellow Creek, she was a homemaker and was also employed as a secretary for the Head Start program and as a waitress at the Everett Landmark Restaurant, Kelly's Scenic View Restaurant and the Gateway Restaurant in Breezewood. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m., in the Dalla Valle Funeral Chapel, Everett, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Carrie Nation THORSELL, 54, of Appian Ave., Virginia Beach, Va., died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach. Va., after a brief illness. Born July 19, 1947, in Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Gaynel (Blake) Varner. She was married to Robert Thorsell. Surviving are her husband at home and three daughters: Loretta Thorsell, Virginia Beach, Va.; Christine Thorsell, Costa Mesa, Calif.; Michelle Schwarz, Newport. NC; and two granddaughters. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters: Harold Varner. Rockhill Furnace: Isaac Varner, Three Springs; three sisters; Geraldine Stallman, Three Springs; Nellie Gerringer, Orbisonia; and Ann Brown, Mifflintown. Preceding her in death was a sister, Tressie Krause, and three brothers: Samuel Varner, Robert Varner, and Rolson Varner. A memorial service will be held July 14, 2002, at the Shope Cemetery. Blacklog Valley, Orbisonia. Roy A. BERRY, 88, of 9 Pinewood Acres, Mount Union, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at his home. His death was unexpected. Born April 6, 1913, in Kentucky, he married Jessie M. Purvis April 3, 1983. She preceded him in death Sept. 4, 1990. He then married Dorothy M. (Stifler) Marshal May 16, 1991. Mrs. Berry survives at home, along with the following stepchildren: Maxine North, Mount Union; Lewis Durrett, Louisville, Ky.; Linda Cohenour, Mount Union, R.D. 1; and Georgia Blanton, Florida. There are nine stepchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. One stepson, Charles Lee Sivadow, and a brother, Wilber Berry, preceded him in death. Mr. Berry was a member of the Cedar Crest Lucy Furnace Chapel, Mount Union, RD. 1. During World War II, he served overseas in the United States Navy. He retired from Fort Knox in Louisville, Ky. Mr. Berry enjoyed reading the Bible. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Cedar Crest Lucy Furnace Chapel, Mount Union, RD. 1, with the Rev. Jeff Winstead officiating. Interment will be made in the Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, RD. 1. Charles T. KELLER, 88, of Centre Hall, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at Centre Community Hospital, State College. Born Jan. 29, 1913, in McAlevys Fort, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth (McMahon) Keller. He married Ida B. Bruss July 3, 1934. Mrs. Keller survives at home, along with a daughter and a son: Barbara A. Mills of rural Centre Hall and Barry T. Keller of Kyler­town. There are six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a foster daughter, Ida Rose Keller and a son, John F. Keller. Mr. Keller attended the Grace United Methodist Church in Centre Hall. He farmed in Harris Township for 34 years. Earlier in life, he had worked at the Boyle Ice Plant in Huntingdon. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid hunter in his earlier years. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Interment will be made in the Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College. Verna Catherine (David) SCHIRM, 95, a resident of The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, formerly of Star Route, Huntingdon, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at 7:45 am., at The Oaks. Born Nov. 16, 1905, at the family home in Henderson Township, Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Victor Luther and Mary Ida (Dixon) David. She married Lewis Samuel Schirm June 28, 1932, in Petersburg, with the Rev. Charles Stong officiating. Mr. Schirm preceded her in death Sept. 25, 1971. Surviving are two children: James F. Schinn of State College and Mrs. Jay (Donna S.) Deamer, Huntingdon. There are four grand­children and two great-grandchildren. One son, David H. Hesser, preceded her in death August 1995, and a great-grandson, Ian Fuiek, is also deceased. A brother, Calvin Monroe David of Elkhart, Md., survives. She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters: Leslie C. David, Howard Wilbur David, John S. David, Benjamin Franklin David, George F. Born June 25, 1912, in Chicago Heights, Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Clarence and Anna Day (Eby) Harbst. He married Alverna M. Black May 6, 1937, in Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Harbst pre­ceded him in death June 17, 1991. Surviving are two daughters and two sons: Dixie Ritchey and Gene Harbst, both of Huntingdon; Sharon Harbst, Confluence; and Terry Harbst, Huntingdon. Fourth St., Salem, Ohio, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at the Specialty Hospital of Mahoning Valley in Youngstown. Ohio. He had been a patient for four days after being transferred from the Cleveland Clinic, where he was a patient for eight weeks. Born Jan. 2, 1940, in Coalmont, he was the son of the late Earl and Alene (Clark) Adolphson. He married Ruth Jones Jan. 12, 1957. Mrs. Adolphson survives at home, along with a son and a daughter; Rodney Adolphson of Kent, Ohio, and Karen Fender of Salem, Ohio. There is one adopted granddaughter, Angela M. Adolphson, who was reared in the home and survives in Akron, Ohio. Also surviving are a sister and two brothers: Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Burrington, Enfield, Conn.; Neil A. Adolphson, Rockwood; and George Adolphson, Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Sara Renee Fender, and an infant sister and an infant twin brother. Born Oct. 8, 1902, in Smithfield Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late E.E. and Alice M. (Whippo) Beck. She mar­ried George L. Born Oct. 1, 1950, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Rinard) Russell, who sur­vive in Hopewell. He married Tina Jones June 28, 1979, in the Robertsdale Church of God, with Pastor John Seippel officiating. In addition to his parents and wife, he is also survived by three daughters: Autumn Miller and Amber Russell, both of Saxton, and Ashley Russell, at home. There are six grandchildren. Janee Frances LEAHEY, 88, a resident of the Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg, formerly of Johnstown, died Aug. 6, 2001. Mrs. Leahey was a Christian leader, very active in the Immaculate Conception Church, Dudley, for the last eight years, and also active in her neighborhood. She was a daily mass-prayer, a member of the Mother Seton Guild and Legion of Mary at Visitation Church. Wis., formerly of Mill Creek, died at the Devine Savior Hospital in Wisconsin Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, following a brief illness. Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Hill Valley, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Daisy (Rinker) Dell. He marred Doris Juanita Smith of Tallahassee, Fla., Aug. 16, 1944. Mrs. Dell survives at home, along with the following children: Charlene Horn, Portage, Wis.; Harold K. Dell, Deforest, Wis.; Charles E. Dell, Mosinen, Wis.; and David Dell, Enderson, Wis. One daughter, Doris Ann Walker, preceded him in death. One sister, Nora Bowser of Mill Creek, survives. Two brothers, Ferrel and James, are deceased. Mr. Dell was of the Protestant faith. He attended the Mapleton schools and he had been employed at Owens Corning Fiberglas until moving to Portage in 1965. He managed a gas station there. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army from April 1943 until March 1946, as a truck driver in India. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and camping. He also enjoyed having coffee each morning with his friends at his store. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Dale W. SMITH, 72, of 184 Silverford Heights Rd., Mount Union, died at 5:45 am. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. He died following a brief illness. Born May 31, 1929, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Harp­er and Cleo (Roland) Smith. He married Shelva Jean Shugarts Aug. 25, 1956, in Winchester, Va. Mrs. Smith survives at their home, along with three children: Cindy L. Valdivia, Lewistown; Gary D. Butch’ Smith, Calvin; Jodi M. Booher, Shade Gap. There are seven grandchildren. Born Jan. 28, 1936, in Bellwood, he was the son of the late Lester L. Myers Sr. and Lorene Cronemiller, who survives in Spruce Creek. He married Ruth E. Cella June 3, 1959, in Maryland. Mrs. Myers survives at home, along with one daughter and two sons: Debra Wilson, Petersburg; Dave W. Myers, Tyrone, RD.; and John D. Myers, Spruce Creek. There is one granddaughter. Born Dec. 9, 1922, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late John F. and Delilah (Herncane) Prendergast. He married Wanda Hauck Feb. 7, 1942, in Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Prendergast survives at home, along with two sons: Richard L. Prendergast, Franklin, Tenn.; and Steven L. Prendergast, Huntingdon. There are eight grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Delilah (Prendergast) Walker and Patricia (Prendergast) Shuck, both of Huntingdon. Other brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Prendergast was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. Educated in the public schools of Huntingdon, he graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1940. He attended various military training schools during his military career. He retired from the U.S. Army after 25 years of service. He attained the rank of master sergeant and served during World War II. Following his retirement, he was employed at Penn State University, where he later retired as supervisor in the physical plant. During his retirement, he enjoyed restoring and refinishing woodwork for many area residents. Mr. Prendergast was a member of Standing Stone Post 1754, VFW, and Frank P. Born in Huntingdon, he had been a resident of Tallmadge since 1945. His wife of 53 years, Effie, preceded him in death in 1992. Surviving are two daughters and two sons: Kaye Wilkie of Franklin Township; Mrs. Gary (Carole) Matthews, California; Ronald Bard, Akron, Ohio; and Timothy Bard, Tallmadge. There are 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One sister, Naomi Lake of Rock Island, Ill., survives, along with many other relatives and friends. Mr. Bard was a member of the Chapel Hill Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for over 50 years. He was a former trustee of his church. He was a member of the Tallmadge Men’s Garden Club and the Tallmadge Men’s Breakfast Club. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and camping. Mr. Bard served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and retired from the General Tire and Rubber Company in 1977, with 37 years of service in the storage department. WASSON, 88, a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Entriken, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at 10:33 p.m., at the emergency room of Bon Secours Holy Family Hospital, Altoona, following a lengthy illness. Born Jan. 15, 1913, in Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Archie and Elsie M. (Fisher) Wasson. He married Juanita Mae Stark Nov. 13, 1945, in Preston, Idaho. Surviving are two sons, Wilbert Leroy Dunkley and Doyle Glenn Dunkley, both of Clearfield, Utah. There are seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Born March 27, 1927, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Humphrey and Etta Eugenia "Jean" (Lutman) Shoemaker. His wife, Gladys I. (Henry) Shoemaker, whom he married Sept. 9, 1950, survives. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served with the Military Police. He retired from Ford New Holland after 40 years as an inspector and a manufacturing engineer. Felma M. WEIMERT, 92, of York, formerly of Bedford, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at the York Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1909, in Chanceford Township, York County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Minnie (Gohn) Arnold. She married Richard U. Weimert Aug. 15, 1939. He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1989. Surviving are two sons: Richard A. Weimert of Montvale, N.J., and Robert T. Weimert of Middletown, Md. There are three grandchildren and a niece. One sister, Olive Senft, is deceased. Mrs. Weimert graduated from North York High School in 1927, and from Shippensburg University in 1929. She taught in various elementary school in Bedford County for 33 years until her retirement in 1971. Dorothy Louise BRECHBIEL, 87, a resident of Huntingdon Manor Nursing Home, Huntingdon, and formerly of RD 1, Mapleton, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 23, 1913, in Cass Township, the daughter of the Ora and Elda (Stever) Querry. She married Harry A. Brechbiel May 31, 1930, in Hagerstown, Md. He preceeded her in death May 22, 1995. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Goodman of Huntingdon, and two sons, Garry Brechbiel of Mercersburg and Dennis Brechbiel of Chambersburg, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters; Eleanor Pannebaker of Huntingdon and Mary Bowman of Mapleton, RD. Mrs. Brechbiel was a member of the Latta Grove United Methodist Church, RD., Mapleton. She was preceded in death by a son, Fred; two brothers and one sister. She retired as a seamstress from the former Mount Union sewing factory. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Monday. William "Ray" SHIELDS, 78, of RD. 1, Box 903, Mount Union, died at 1:15 am. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at JC. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born April 5, 1923, in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late William A. and Samantha (Staubs) Shields. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Wigfield in March 1964. His wife preceded him in death March 25, 1971. Surviving are a daughter, Wilma R. Shields Duvall of Greencaastle. Also surviving are three stepchildren; Marie Taylor of Orbisonia, Judy Hamman of Mapleton and Debra Hamilton of Greencastle. There are two grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Gifford, and the following half-brothers and half-sister; J. Paul Shields, Warren Shields, Hazel Hess, Bower Shields and Fred Shields. Mr. Shields had attended the Germany Valley Church of the Brethren, Shirleysburg, RD 1. He retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories in Mount Union in 1986, after 45 years of service. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II. He was a lifetime member of both the Newton-Wayne Sportsmen’s Club and the Orbisonia-Rockhill American Legion Post. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. "Dick" ISETT, 71, of R.R. 1, Box 214, James Creek, Lincoln Township, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at 6:30 am., at his Lincoln Township home, following an extended illness. Born Dec. 25, 1929, in Marklesburg, he was the son of the late Harold 0. and Nellie 0. (Beaver) Isett. He married Marilyn E. "Sis" Brindle Aug. 30, 1952. at the Reformed Church in Pitcairn. Mrs. Isett survives at home, along with three sons: Richard K. Isett, Ronald Lee Isett and Timothy E. Isett, all of James Creek. There are seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. One sister, Mrs. lames (Beverly Jane) Ardrey of Huntingdon, survives. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Marks. Mr. Isett was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, James Creek. A 1947 graduate of Huntingdon High School, he worked at the J.C. Blair Company, the predecessor of Mead Office and Consumer Products. He was later a corrections officer at the State Correctional Institution Huntingdon and retired in 1985, after 30 years of service. Mr. Isett was a member of Standing Stone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1754. and Frank P. Hommon American Legion Post 24, both of Huntingdon, and the Woodcock Valley Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Korea with the 13 1st Transportation Trucking Co. Mr. Isett was a lifetime resident of the James Creek area. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Interment will be made in the Old Stone Church Cemetery, James Creek. A’Dra P HEADINGS, 83, of 1322 Washington St., Huntingdon, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at 9:15 p.m., at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Nov. 6, 1917, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. and Virgia L. (Melcher) Pheasant. She married Clarence R. Headings Oct. 12, 1941. Mr. Headings survives at home, along with a daughter, Jacqueline D. "Jackie’ Headings, Huntingdon. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister: Carl, Paul, Merle and Mildred Pheasant. One niece and a nephew survive. Mrs. Headings was a member of the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. She was employed by Huntingdon Borough as a crossing guard at the Alfarata Elementary School and by the Huntingdon Area School District. retiring from the custodial staff of Huntingdon Area Middle School in 1983. She was a 1937 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School and was a long-time member of the Huntingdon Bearcat Football Booster Club. Funeral services were held August 27, 2001, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. David L. Dearing officiating. Interment was made in the Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Audrey P. GREATHEAD, editor and publisher of the Fulton County News, McConnellsburg, PA, died Monday, August 27, 2001 in the Chambersburg Hospital emergency room. Her death was from heart failure due to complications of lung cancer. She was 80 years old. She had been semi-retired from the newspaper business since 1984. Mrs. Greathead was born August 10, 1921, the daughter of the late James Henry and Elizabeth Hannah Pincher in County Durham, England. She was educated at the Wimbledon School for Girls, London, England. She served during World War II with the Women’s Royal Naval Service as a visual signaler on the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. After the war, she came to America and was married to the late John W. Greathead in the United Metho-dist Church in McConnellsburg, PA on January 1, 1947. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in Gettysburg in 1954. Following the sudden death of her husband in 1958, Mrs. Greathead took over the editor’s desk of the Fulton County News while raising three small children. She continued to publish her late husband’s weekly paper until her retirement in 1984 when her son, Jamie, took over the business. During her tenure at the newspaper, she installed the first Goss Comet web newspaper press in the county. While she was at the helm of the News, the newspaper circulation more than doubled. As publisher, editor and often reporter, Mrs. Greathead covered all the big stories of the county throughout the years including the world-famous Peggy Ann Bradnick kidnapping case. Although semi-retired, she remained at the newspaper working several days each week until her death. Mrs. Greathead was widely known and well-respected in the newspaper business and, while publisher and editor, she was active in the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers’ Association (PNPA). She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 561, the VFW Auxiliary Post 65 and the Limbury Royal British Legion. She was also a past member of the Great Cove Golf Club, having served on the Board of Directors and as a president of the Great Cove Women’s Club. In addition, Mrs. Greathead was a member of the Board of Directors when the McConnellsburg Sewage Authority was first formed. She was a member of the Selective Service System Board in Fulton County during the Viet Nam War, a member of the Emergency Management Agency, and also Executive Director of the American Red Cross in the late 1940s. Prior to her husband’s death, she was also a Girl Scout leader in the community. From January, 1976 through 1985, she was married to Dr. Radford Locke of Orbisonia, PA. They remained close friends until her death. In her semi-retirement, Mrs. Greathead enjoyed bird watching, golf and a good game of bingo. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed at least three books per week. She completed a crossword puzzle every day and still had time to handicap the horses. She is survived by her two sons: Jamie S. Greathead and John W. Greathead, both of McConnellsburg; a daughter, Nancy L. Janko of San Anselmo, CA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Leonard (Elsie) Glasse of Welwyn Garden City, Kents, England, also survives. Three sisters, one brother and one grandson preceded her in death. According to her wishes, Mrs. Greathead’s body is being donated to the Humanity Gift Center for anatomical research at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Her ashes will be interred at Union Cemetery at a later date. Romaine E. (Starr) ELDER, 91, of 809 Spring St., Saxton, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at 2p.m., at the Indiana Hospital, following a brief illness. Born Feb. 5, 1910, in Coalmont, she was the daughter of the late Harvey C. and Mona (Hamilton) Starr. She married William C. Elder, who preceded her in death March 27, 1990. Surviving are two children: Harvey C. Elder of Indiana and John "Jack" Elder of Saxton, RD. There are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Stan and Julia Huff. Mrs. Elder was a member of the Saxton First Church of the God. She was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed watching her grandchildren and listening to Bible tapes. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m., at the D. Elizabeth "Betty" FLECK, 89, a resident of the Allegheny Lutheran Home, Johnstown, formerly of Huntingdon, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at 5:10 p.m., at the Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born March 5, 1911, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late I. Wallace and Edith Work (Isenberg) Fleck. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mrs. C.E. (Natalie) Maloy and Charlotte Willard Fleck. She is survived by a nephew, two nieces, two great-nephews and a great-niece. Miss Fleck was a member of the St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, Somerset. Educated in the public schools of Huntingdon, she graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1928. She attended Juniata College for two years and then transferred to the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.. where she received a bachelor of science degree. She received her master’s degree in social work from Columbia University in New York City, N.Y. She was employed in the physical education department of Juniata College. During World War II. she worked for the American Red Cross, stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. She returned to Huntingdon and directed the American Red Cross for five years. In the 1950s. she worked for the Veterans Administration in Johnstown and served as a psychiatric social worker until her retirement in 1972. An avid golfer and bridge player, she was the first woman to be inducted into the Juniata College Sports Hall of Fame in 1997. She was a member of the Garden and Book Clubs of Johnstown; Johnstown Chapter of American Association of University Women; served on the board of directors of the American Red Cross, Johnstown Chapter; belonged to the Somerset Country Club and the Johnstown Art League. Interment will be made in the Riverview Cemetery. Huntingdon. Betty Mae HETRICK, 69, of 600 Penn St.. Blair House, Apt. No.705, Huntingdon, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at 5:30 p.m.. at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Huntingdon. Born May 27, 1932, in Porter Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Donald R. and Clara (Kern) Eckley. She married Richard M. Hetrick June 10, 1950, in Winchester, Va. Mr. Hetrick survives at home, along with three children: Wilma L. Hetrick. Huntingdon; Donald R. Hetrick. Huntingdon, RD. 3; and Richard R. Hetrick. Huntingdon. There are six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. One brother, Donald A. Eckley of State College, survives. Mrs. Hetrick was of the Protestant faith. A 1949 graduate of Juniata Valley High School, she worked as a practical nurse for various families in the Huntingdon area from 1958 until her retirement in 1990. Interment will be made in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Huntingdon, RD. 3. Jayne A. SUBA, 57, of Star Route 103 North, Lewistown, died Monday. Aug. 27, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 17, 1943, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Jay V. Jr. and Sara Ann (Walker) Montgomery. She married William R. Suba in 1972. Mr. Suba survives at home, along with two children: Amy L. Backus of New York and Carol A. Arvidson of Maryland. Also surviving are two brothers: Jay R. Montgomery of Bellefonte and Larry K. Montgomery of Lewistown. A graduate of Lewistown High School, she also graduated from Rasbrough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at the Malta Home, Lewistown Hospital and Black’s Hospital-William Penn. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewistown. Interment will be made in the Juniata Memorial Park. Mary (Weston) Moist CONN, 85, of Kingston, Tenn., formerly of Alexandria, died Wednesday. Aug. 29, 2001, at 7:24 am., at Manor Care Nursing Home, Harrisburg, where she had resided for the past three years. She died following a brief illness. Born Jan. 5, 1916, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late George and Lydia (Graffius) Weston. She married Alvin N. Moist Dec. 31, 1934, in Altoona. He preceded her in death in May 1971 She later married Woodrow Conn Jan. 12, 1980. Mr. Conn survives in Harrisburg, along with the following children: Mrs. Glenn (Ruth Moist) Gensimore, Alexandria; Alvin R. Moist, Marianna. Fla.; Mrs. Francis (Charlotte Moist) Laganella, Harrisburg; Donald E. Moist, Alexandria; Russell B. Moist, Middletown; and Terry L. Moist, Saulsburg. There are 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister survive: Earl Weston, Unionville; Harold Weston. Williamsport; and Helen Phalen. Altoona. She was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Miller. and a brother. Fred Weston. Mrs. Conn was a member of the Emmanuel Bible Church, Huntingdon. Born and reared in Altoona, she moved to Juniata Valley before her marriage. She attended the Altoona High School and was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and beadwork. Before moving to the nursing home in Harrisburg, she had resided in Kingston, Tenn., where she was an avid quilter with the senior citizens quilters of the Kingston Community Center. KISE, 89, a resident of the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, formerly of 34 Washington St., Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at the Masonic Health Center, Elizabethtown. Born in Porter Township, near Alexandria, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Bessie J. (Brenneman) Schuldt. She married H. Elwood Isenberg, who preceded her in death in 1981. Her second husband, Ezra Hoover, died in 1983. She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn L. Phillips of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and Mrs. James M. (Barbara J.) Richardson, Elizabethtown. There are seven grandchildren. two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister: J. Carlton Schuldt, Lawrence A. Schuldt, Harold J. Schuldt and Marie Donovan. One granddaughter, Sharon D. Phillips, is also deceased. Mrs. Kise was a member of the Christ Church United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown for over 67 years. She retired in 1974, from Hershey Medical Center, where she worked in the laundry department. She also worked at the former Schock Presbyterian Home in Mount Joy and had previously worked for the former Savoy Shoe Factory, Hesteco Garment Factory, Rissers Garment Factory and Gerbench-Payne Shoe Factory. LONG, 86, a resident of the Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg, formerly of Sinking Valley, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at the home. He had been a resident of the home since 1995. Born May 24, 1915, at Bakers Summit, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Ida B. (Keagy) Long. He married Ruth D. Detwiler May 14, 1939. in New Enterprise. Along with his wife, he is survived by a brother, Jack A. Long of Hollidaysburg and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Max, Pete, Charles, Alverta Miller and Betty Long. Mr. Long was a member of the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren, where he was the last surviving member of the building committee for the present church. He attended the Roaring Spring school and retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company in 1977, after 39 years of service. He was a township supervisor for Tyrone Township in the Sinking Valley area for eight years. He was a member of the Woodbury Lodge No. 539 F&AM, Roaring Spring, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Altoona and the Jaffa Temple. (Powell) EIDEM, 95, formerly of Mapleton and Huntingdon, RD. 4, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at 9:45 p.m., at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. Born Dec. 1, 1905, in Saltillo, she was the daughter of the late David C. and Laura Belle (Hollabaugh) Powell. She married Ralph H. Eidem Jan. 28, 1922. He preceded her in death June 4, 1981. Surviving are two children: Mrs. Paul (Laura) Stapleton, Huntingdon, RD. 1 and Paul H. Eidem, Shirleysburg. There are six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. One son, Earl C. Eidem, preceded her in death. One sister, Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Sheffield of Shippensburg, survives. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Emma Walker, Mary Powell, John Powell and Earl Powell. Mrs. Eidem was a member of the Hesston Community Chapel. She was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed making rugs, gardening and baking. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at 11 am., at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. James L. Blair officiating. Interment will be made in the Saltillo Cemetery, Saltillo. John R. ROLLER, 7, of Etters, Newberry Township, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at his residence, following an extended illness. Born Oct. 26, 1993, in the Harrisburg Hospital, he was the son of Dennis and Marcia (Booher) Roller. Surviving, along with his parents, are a brother, Bradley R. Roller, and a sister. Ashley D. Roller, both at home. Also surviving are his paternal grandparents, John F. and Dorothy (Anderson) Roller of Etters; his maternal grandmother, Mildred L. (Duncan) Booher of Rockhill; and two paternal great-grandmothers. Helen E. Roller of Etters and Bertha Anderson of Lancaster. Several cousins, aunts and uncles also survive. John was a baptized member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Etters and also attended the First Church of Nazarene in Orbisonia and the Church of God of Prophecy in Shirleysburg. He was entering the multi-age class as second grade leader at Newberry Elementary School, Newberry Township. He was a Red Land T-Ball Oriole in the Red Land Little League Baseball Association. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Etters. Interment will be made in the Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Fairview Township.
