MASTELLER, 73, formerly of Mount Union. who most recently resided in East Waterford with her daughter, Beverly J. Millikan, died Aug. 1, 2003, at her daughter's home. Her death was unexpected. Born Sept. 22, 1929, in Kistler, she was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Mary Elizabeth (Ernest) Hughes. She was twice married; first to George J. Harman Sr., then to Jay E. Masteller, to whom she was wed Sept. 28, 1963, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Mount Union. Mr. Masteller proceeded her in death July 3, 1978. Along with her daughter, Beverly J. Millikan of East Waterford, she is survived by two sons, George J. "Jack" Harman of Mount Union, and Benjamin L. Harman of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A sister, Patricia Walters of Smithfield, and a brother, Robert G. Hughes of Allenport, survive. She was preceded in death four brothers, Ray Hughes, Don Hughes, Gary Hughes and Earl Hughes Jr., and two sisters, Anna Ryan and Rosie Ryan. Mrs. Masteller was of the Methodist faith. She was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post No 5754 in Mount Union. She attended Mount Union schools and graduated from Empire Beauty School in Lewistown. For many years she owned and operated Josie's Beauty Shop, first in Mount Union and later in Allenport. She had also worked at L. Grief Brothers Manufacturing in Mount Union. Mrs. Masteller enjoyed knitting and crocheting. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of Mrs. Masteller's family at the Wayne Methodist Cemetery, McVeytown, with the Rev. Ed Seeley officiating. Samuel Raymond FESSLER, 78, of Dudley, died Aug. 4, 2003, in Dudley. Born Jan. 5, 1925, in Six Mile Run, he was the son of the late Charles and Nancy (Von Moose) Fessler. He was united in marriage to Winifred Fox Aug. 6, 1949. Mrs. Fessler preceded him in death. He is survived by four daughters and two sons: Nancy Baker of Harrisonville, Donald Fessler of Six Mile Run, Shirley McFarland of Six Mile Run, Charles Fassler of Dudley, Gladys Erwin of Saxton and Mary Long of Saxton; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Vera Fessler and Hazel Jones, both of Dudley, and Bernice Coy of Seagertown, and one brother, George Fessler of Saxton, survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Fessler; brothers Robert Fessler, Joseph Fessler and Howard Fessler; and one sister, Mary Hall. Mr. Fessler was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army where he earned the rank of T- 4. He served in the army from March 1, 1943, until Feb. 16, 1946. He received the Good Conduct, American Campaign, World War II Victory, European African Middle Eastern Campaign and the Asiatic Campaign medals and was honorably discharged. Mr. Fessler was a heavy equipment operator with Penn Lines. Through the years, he worked as a lumber jack, a coal miner and helped build the Pennsylvania Turnpike tunnels. He was an avid sportsman. Funeral services will be held Aug. 8, at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, Broad Top City, with Pastor Lanny Hoover officiating. Interment will be made in Dudley Protestant Cemetery. Earl A. LOUNSBERRY, 91, of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, formerly of Shade Gap and Tabernacle, N.J., died Aug. 4, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. Born Oct. 26, 1911, in Medford, N.J., he was the son of the late Earl and Mary (Miller) Lounsberry. He was married to the former Joshanna Emmons June 4, 1932. Mrs. Lounsberry preceded him in death May 25, 1997. Mr. Lounsberry is survived by two sons and one daughter: Lawrence R. Lounsberry of Columbus, N.J., Clarence R. Lounsberry of Southhampton, N.J., and Joanne G. Lyons of Shade Gap; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Elsie Durhan of Medford, N.J., survives. He was preceded in death by two sons, Earl and Franklin. Mr. Lounsberry was of the Episcopal faith. During his entire life, he was engaged in farming. Funeral services will be held Aug. 8, at the Mathis Funeral Home, Medford, N.J. Interment will be made in the Junior Mechanics Cemetery in Tabernacle, N.J. Aniela PUCHALO, 81, of HCR 1, Robertsdale, died Aug. 5, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born Nov. 5, 1921, in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Magdalene Kozlowski. Mrs. Puchalo was divorced. She is survived by three sons: Bruce Puchalo and his wife, Colleen, of Robertsdale; Alan Puchalo of Allentown; and Steven Puchalo and his wife, Betty, of Waynesboro. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Bruce Puchalo Jr., Tonya Wise, Alan Puchalo Jr., Mike Puchalo, Katrina Puchalo, Steve Puchalo Jr., Eric Puchalo, and Kristie Jo Puchalo; and one great-grandson, Ken Wise Jr. A brother, Walter Kozlowski of Las Vegas, Nev., survives. Mrs. Puchalo was a member of Broad Top Grace Brethren Church in Saxton. She was a member of the Three Springs Senior Center. For 25 years, she was employed as a supervisor at Cata Garments in Allentown. Funeral services will be held Aug. 8, at Fairview Evangelical Church, Three Springs, with Pastor William Hughes officiating. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Three Springs. J. William "Bill" LLOYD, 63, a resident of Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, formerly of Williamsburg, died Aug. 5, 2003, at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Jan. 12, 1940, in Williamsburg, he was the son of the late W.W. Lane and M. Jeannette (Lloyd) Roush. He is survived by a daughter, Jani G. Cracknell of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, Ricky A. Lloyd of Red Hook, N.Y., and Jeffrey L. Schwaderer of Williamsburg. Five grandchildren: Michaela J. Cracknell, Joshua A. and Tyler C. Lloyd and Brandi N. and Amber L. Schwaderer. He is survived by four sisters: Darlene Jackson, Nancy Luke and Susan Blough, all of Williamsburg, and Emily Gorsuch of Red Hook, N.Y.; and two brothers, Robert Roush of Rhinebeck, N.Y., and Terry Roush of Sweetwater, Tenn.; several aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James S. Roush, and a sister, Sharon A. Roush. Mr. Lloyd attended Williamsburg Church of God. He was a 1957 graduate of Williamsburg High School He retired as a warehouse manager from the New York State Department of Mental Health, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., in 1987. He was previously employed at IBM, Western Printing and Orchard Hill Farms, all in New York State. Mr. Lloyd was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed football and baseball, country music and loved being with people, especially his family. Funeral services will be held Aug. 9, at Williamsburg Church of God with Pastors Dennis J. Pruitt and Richard Harter officiating. Interment will be made at Henry's Lutheran Cemetery at Yellow Springs, Williamsburg. Peggy Jane (Rankin) THROCKMORTON, 75, of Varina, originally of Orbisonia, died Aug. 5, 2003. She is survived by one son, James Allen Clarke and his wife, Melody; three daughters, Nancy Diane McFadden of Hampton, Linda Kaloustian and her husband, Raymond, and Iris Clarke Danner and her husband, Walker; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers, Ned Rankin and his wife, Jean, of Pennsylvania, and Walter Rankin of Florida; Four sisters, Charlene and her husband, Roy, and Burt, all of Florida, Nancy of Alabama and Lib of South Dakota; and a niece, Dorothy Hamett of Alabama. A memorial service was held Aug. 8. Interment will be private. Virginia M. (Kyper) RAINEY, 77, Huntingdon, died Aug. 5, 2003, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp. Hershey. Born June 24, 1926, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late William and Edith (Moreland) Kyper. She was united in marriage to Max W. Rainey June 4, 1947, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Rainey preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Karen D. Rainey of Mechanicsburg and Mrs. Ronald (Kimberly A.) Miller of Jamesburg, N.J.; one grandson, Matthew D. Miller, and one granddaughter, Marsha D. Miller, both of Jamesburg, N.J. One brother, Thomas Kyper of Huntingdon, and three sisters, Mrs. Miles (Marjorie) Norris and Mrs. Homer (Ann) Norris, both of Huntingdon, and Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Rosenberry of New Cumberland, survive. Mrs. Rainey was a member of the First Regular Baptist Church in Huntingdon. She was a member of the Standing Stone Ladies' Golf Association, the Standing Stone Senior Citizens Center and her high school class reunion committee. She served as a judge of elections for a number of years. Mrs. Rainey graduated from Huntingdon High School in the Class of 1944 and graduated from the Philipsburg Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. During all 12 years of high school and three years of nursing school, she never missed a day of class. She had worked as a registered nurse at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and later as an industrial nurse for a number of years at Owens Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon. She also was active as a private duty nurse for a number of years. She was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon and resided at her Warm Springs Avenue home for 55 years. She was an avid golfer and loved to dance. Funeral services will be held Aug. 8, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home Smithfield Twp., Huntingdon, with the Rev. David D. Oldham officiating. Interment will be made at Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Charlotte M. MCCONAUGHEY, 77, of Mount Union, died unexpectedly Aug. 6, 2003, at Altoona Hospital. Born July 11, 1926, in Blair County, she was the daughter of the late Foster and Jennie C. (Harman) Casner. She was united in marriage to Chester L. McConaughey Feb. 23, 1944. Mr. McConaughey proceeded her in death March 19, 1982. She is survived by three sons and one daughter: Anthony D. McConaughey of Shirleysburg, and Rex Allen McConaughey of Whitehall; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Two half-sisters, Jennie Contois of Shirleysburg and Margaret Hocker of Chambersburg, and a half-brother, Harold Hocker of Shirleysburg. survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Luther C. McConaughey; a granddaughter; a sister, Verna Madilia; a brother, Luther Casner; a half-brother, John Hocker; another brother, three sisters, two half-brothers and three half-sisters. Mrs. McConaughey attended Cedar Crest-Lucy Furnace Chapel. She was a member of the Bricktown Seniors in Mount Union. She participated for many years as a Fresh Air Mother and operated the concession stand for the Mount Union Area Little League for a number of years. She had worked for 25 years at L. Grief Brothers Manufacturing, Mount Union, from 1946 until its closing. She had also been previously employed at Robin Footwear in Mount Union and Scotty's Fashions in Lewistown. Funeral services will be held Aug. 9, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home Mount Union, with Pastor Jeff Winstead officiating. Interment will be made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg. Lena Mae KEPLER, 94, a resident of Valley View Retirement Community in Belleville for the past two years, formerly of Mifflin St., Huntingdon, died Aug. 6, 2003, at the retirement community. Born June 24, 1990, in Mill Creek, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annie (Corbin) Shaffer. She was united in marriage to Harold Kepler Nov. 2, 1929, in Frostburg, Md. Mr. Kepler preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1981. She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Herrington of Mount Union; three sons, Robert Kepler of Neptune City, N.J., Gary Kepler of Entriken and Wayne Kepler of Neptune City, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Frazier, Helen Cairns and May Long. Mrs. Kepler was a life member of the Women of the Moose Lodge, Huntingdon, and served as regent. She was also a charter member of Huntingdon Hook and Ladder Fire Co. She was primarily a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Aug. 9, at the Robert Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. James Blair officiating. Interment will be made in Mountainview Cemetery, Mill Creek. Charles R. LEIDY SR., 82, of Mars, formerly of Altoona and Alexandria, died Aug. 6, 2003, at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars. He was born July 5, 1921, in Spruce Creek, the son of the late Horatio and Grace (Leidy) Isenberg. He was united in marriage to Erma Louise Summers. He is survived by his wife; one son, C. Robert Leidy Jr. of State College; two daughters, Carol J. Harvey of York and Linda L. Smith of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother and step-father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rash Isenberg, and a sister, Mary Grace. Mr. Leidy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altoona. He was a member of the Battle Swamp Campers Club. He served in the U.S. Navy as a barber. Mr. Leidy was a 1939 graduate of a predecessor of Juniata Valley High School. He was self-employed as a painter and barber in Alexandria for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing and camping. Funeral services will be held Aug. 8, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, Altoona, with the Rev. Dr. Charles F. Kiloski officiating. Interment will be made at Alto Rest Park in Altoona. Harper R. "Bud" SMITH, 69, formerly of Silverford Heights, who most recently resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Gene Park, at Mapleton, died Aug. 7, 2003, at the Park home. Born Aug. 20, 1933, in Calvin, he was the son of the late Harper Leo and Cleo (Roland) Smith. He was united in marriage to Joan N. Nelson June 3, 1956. Mrs. Smith preceded him in death Feb. 26, 1993. He is survived by two daughters: Tammy Park and her husband, Gene, Mapleton, and Debbie Losh and her husband, Kenny, of East Berlin; one son, David G. Smith and his wife, Andrea, of McVeytown; and eight grandchildren. He is survived by his companion, Wilma Clippinger. Two sisters, Joanne Scott of Huntingdon and Janice Scott of Calvin, survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Smith and Fred Smith, and two sisters, Jean Migatulski and Jane Bowser. Mr. Smith was a graduate of Captain Jack High School in Mount Union. He retired from Owen-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon, in 1992. Most recently, while he was in Carlisle, he worked at Ashcombe nursery and at Sheetz. He enjoyed raising beef cattle and gardening. Funeral services will be held Aug. 10, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Dick Reese officiating. Interment will be made in Cassville Cemetery. Grace M. ROWE, 83, a resident of Meadowview Manor, McVeytown, formerly of Mapleton, died Aug. 7, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born March 19, 1920, in Cass Twp., Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Earl and Sarah (Dell) Park. She was united in marriage to Charles H. Rowe Nov. 28, 1943, in Rockhill Furnace, by the Rev. Martin Secholten. Mr. Rowe preceded her in death Nov. 7, 1985. She is survived by a brother, Kenneth Park, and a sister, Madeline Rowe, both of Mapleton. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Mrs. Rowe was a member of Beech Run Church of the Brethren, Mapleton. She was primarily a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Aug. 11, at the Beech Run Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Connie Maclay officiating. Interment will be made at Cornelius Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton. Patricia L. O'Hanlon, 63, of Florida, formerly of Huntingdon County, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, in Florida. She was born June 4, 1940, in Huntingdon County, the daughter of the late Samuel Howard and Nettie (Brown) Grove. She is survived by a daughter, Georgia Morris of Huntingdon; a son, James I. Cox III of Silverford Heights, Mount Union; a granddaughter, Mandaline Morris of Philadelphia; a grandson, John D. Morris II of Mount Union; and two great-grandchildren, Monisha Hunter and Dajuan Richardson. Three sisters, Verna McCartney, Vera Jenkins and Erma Jean Smith, and one brother, Samuel Grove, survive. Dorothy M. SHOPE, 86, of James Creek, died Aug. 8, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Mrs. Shope had been ill for the past three weeks. She was born July 11, 1917, in Mount Union, the daughter of the late Westley and Mary (Runk) Cramer. She was united in marriage to Millard Shope at the Rockhill Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Lewis H. King. Mr. Shope preceded her in death December 1992. She is survived by one son, Marlin M. Shope of James Creek, and two daughters, Mrs. Cloyd (Louanna) Miller of James Creek, and Nancy Shope of Huntingdon. She is survived by six grandchildren: Jerry Miller, John Shope, Charles Ellenberger, Scott Ellenberger, Todd Miller and Marlin Christopher Shope; and 16 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Elsie Smith of Allentown and Zelda Long of Ravenna, Ohio, and four brothers, Clarence Cramer of Three Springs, Clinton Cramer of Saltillo, Edgar Cramer of Mount Union and Floyd Cramer of Shippensburg, survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilmer Cramer, Foster Cramer and Alfred Cramer. Mrs. Shope attended the McConnellstown Church of the Nazarene. She was primarily a homemaker, but worked for a few years at the arrow Shirt Factory, Smithfield Twp. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, raising sheep, crocheting and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private funeral services were help Aug. 11, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Revs. Tom and Verna Cahill officiating. Interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon. Calvin H. BERRIER, 76, of Dry Run, died Aug. 8, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. He was born July 28, 1927, in Allenport, the son of the late Kenneth H. and Ethel (Crider) Berrier. He was united in marriage to Frances E. Kramer Oct. 12, 1946. He is survived by his wife at home; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Patricia E.) Gibbons of Dry Run and Mrs. Earl (Linda M.) Custer of Fannettsburg; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Betty Rosen and Mrs. David (Clara) Jones, both of Dry Run, survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth H. Berrier, two sisters and two brothers. Mr. Berrier was a member of the Doylesburg United Methodist Church, Doylesburg. He was a member of the James W. McCartney American Legion Post No. 232, Dry Run, and Local Union No. 411 in Harrisburg. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a painter with Harrisburg Decorators, Harrisburg. Previously, he was a self-employed painter. A memorial service will be held Aug. 14, at Doylesburg United Methodist Church, Doylesburg, with the Revs. Mike Bumgardner and Marlin Neil officiating. Interment will be private. Esther G. MILLER, 88, a resident of Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia, formerly of Newton Hamilton, died Aug. 9, 2003, at Woodland. She had been in failing health. Born Jan. 13, 1915, in Mattawanna, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Rebecca (Heaster) Boaz. She was united in marriage to Paul E. Miller June 30, 1934. Mr. Miller preceded her in death Dec. 4, 1971. She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Martha Musser of State College; Stanley E. Miller and his wife, Caroline, of Mount Union; Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Waite of Three springs; Mrs. Lewis (Betty) Waite of Newton Hamilton; and Donald P. Miller and his wife, Roseanne, of Dry Run; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Melvin Boaz, William Boaz, Harry Boaz, George Boaz, Jesse Boaz, Merril Boaz and Grace Fagan. Mrs. Miller was of the Protestant faith. She was primarily a homemaker who was devoted to her family and was known as a kind neighbor and friend. Funeral services will be held Aug. 12, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Dan Long officiating. Interment will be made in Newton Hamilton Memorial Cemetery. Muriel "Katie" MORTIMER, formerly of Huntingdon, died Aug. 10, 2003, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the wife of the late Vincent D. Mortimer Sr. She is survived by a son, Vincent D. Mortimer Jr. and his wife, Margie (Flasher) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the following grandchildren: Anne (Wagner) Duffany and her husband, Tom, Neal Mortimer, Laura Wagner, Karena Mortimer and Mark Wagner. A funeral service will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, under the direction of the Elden A. Good Funeral Home Inc. Marie J. (Coffman) BONSELL, 93, of Huntingdon, died Aug. 10, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born April 25, 1910, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Maude (Numer) Coffman. She was united in marriage to Leroy Edward Bonsell April 24, 1925, at the First Baptist Church in Hagerstown, Md., by the Rev. Joseph Young Irvin. Mr. Bonsell preceded her in death July 1, 1977. She is survived by two sons: Leroy R. Bonsell Jr. and his wife, Betty J. (Hoover), George A. Bonsell and his wife, Dorothy (Miller), and two daughters: Carol L. Bonsell and Mrs. Donald (Sandra Bonsell ) Jackson, all of Henderson Twp.; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty J. Bonsell, one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell Coffman, Leon Coffman, Fredrick Coffman and George Coffman, and one sister, Almeda Coffman. Mrs. Bonsell was a member of the 15th St. United Methodist Church in Huntingdon. She attended Huntingdon public schools. Mrs. Bonsell was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed needle crafts, traveling and attending the annual Pow Wow at former Bland's Park. She had lived at her Henderson Twp. residence since 1932. Funeral services will be held Aug. 13, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home Inc., Huntingdon, with the Revs. Georgianna L. Cole and Donald E. Malliband officiating. Interment will will be made at Riverview Cemetery. Judy D. (McMullen) Mallon KLING, 51, of Mount Union, went to be with the Lord Aug. 10, 2003, at home after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 1, 1952, in Huntingdon, the daughter of the late Merrill and Vivian (Raffensberger) McMullen. She was united in marriage to George W. Kling Feb. 10, 2001, at the Presbyterian Church in McVeytown. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn (Grizzle) Rhoades and her husband, David, of Lewistown, and Chelsey Ann Mallon of Canonsburg; and two grandchildren, Becca Vivian Rhoades and Garret John Rhoades. A sister, Deborah (McMullen) Didyk and her husband, Ron, of Cassville; a brother, William McMullen and his wife, Christa, of North Carolina; her paternal grandmother, Mildred McMullen of Mapletown; and several nieces and nephews survive. Mrs. Kling was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the American Legion of Petersburg, the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Co. and the Mount Union VFW Auxiliary. She was a 1970 graduate of Mount Union Area High School. During the Vietnam War, Mrs. Kling served her county for four years in the United States Air Force. She was employed as manager of the McVeytown Minit Mart. Mrs. Kling enjoyed the company of her daughters and grandchildren and spending time in her new home. Appleby Dec. 16, 1954, in Winchester, Va. Mr. Appleby preceded her in death March 8, 1992. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Appleby was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Samuel Gabert, Lewis Gabert, Sylvia Snellbaker, Mary Rosenborough and Boyd Gabert, who was reared by the Appleby family. Mrs. Appleby was of the Christian faith and was a member of Sugar Run Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Mount Union High School with the Class of 1929. She and her husband were co-owners of the Mount Union IGA Foodliner, which they operated for 20 years. She was also an employee of Penelec for 22 years. Richard E. SHAFFER, 70, of Hesston, died Aug. 11, 2003, at the Oaks, Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. Born Sept. 25, 1932, in Mill Creek, he was the son of the late Elmer and Adelaide (Fink) Shaffer. He was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Grove April 23, 1955. He is survived by his wife at home; two sons, Roger Shaffer and his wife, Cynthia (Forshey), of McConnellstown, and Gary B. Shaffer of Hesston; and a daughter, Brenda K. Reed of Petersburg. He is survived by five grandchildren: Shane M. Shaffer of Hesston, Justina M. Shaffer of Mifflintown, and Darius T. Reed, Desiree N. Reed and Derrick H. Reed, all of Petersburg; and one great-granddaughter, Victoria M. Garner of Mifflintown. Born Nov. 29, 1926, at the family home in Water Street, he was the son of the late Lester R. and Melva (Mock) Leidy. He was united in marriage to Anna L. Baldauf Jan. 21, 1950, at St. Matthew's Church, Tyrone, by the Rev. Bernard J. O'Malley. Mrs. Leidy preceded him in death Dec. 23, 1986. He is survived by a son, Harry R. He was a member of Alexandria Volunteer Fire Co., where he had been an active firefighter and volunteer with bingo and other functions. He was also a member of the Home Association of the William P. Spyker American Legion Post No. 520, Alexandria. Mr. Leidy attended the one-room schoolhouse in Mooresville. He began his employment at the brickyard in Alexandria and later retired from the Interstate Amesite Plant in Tyrone. He was a life time resident of Huntingdon Couny until December 2001, when he moved to Centre Crest Nursing Home. Mr. Leidy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was united in marriage to Amanda Black March 1, 1960. He is survived by his wife at home; one son, Philip M. Black of Shamokin; Three daughters, Terri L. Black of Alum Bank, Penny L. Stidam of Norton, Va., and Loida K. Woomer of Huntingdon; and eight grandchildren. Two sisters, Helen Loncosky of Saxton and Julia Hess of Hershey, survive. He was a member of the Watson-Black American Legion Post in Broad Top City and UMWA Local 1968, District 2. He worked as a coal miner for 30 years and was a farmer. Mary Elizabeth HEATH, 84, of Pennknoll Village, Bedford, formerly of Saxton, went to be with the Lord Aug. 15, 2003, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side. Her death followed a lengthy illness. Born Sept. 22, 1918, in Stonerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harrison D. and Elsie (Gillian) Detwiler. She was united in marriage to Norman Robert Heath April 25, 1942, in Altoona. Mr. Heath preceded her in death April 11, 1956. She is survived by eight children: Bonnie E., wife of Ronald Gordon, of New Providence; Sheldon E. Heath and Samuel D. Heath, both of Huntingdon; Judy C., wife of the Rev. Lanny Hoover, of Saxton; Jean, wife of Steve Bollinger, Flora J., wife of Tom McCue, and P. Diane, wife of Barry Neville, all of Dudley; and Becky Thomas of Needmore. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. One brother, Albert D. Detwiler of Rochester, N.Y., and one sister, Hester Dickinson of Jerome, survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Chester L. Heath; four grandsons; three brothers, John Detwiler, Elmer Detwiler and William Detwiler; and two sisters, Violet Fessler and Veda Oakes. Mrs. Heath was the oldest charter member of the Saxton Church of God Tabernacle, where she was a member of the church choir, enjoyed singing and was active in ladies' ministries. She was a member of the Broad Top Area Senior Citizens. Mrs. Heath was a 1936 graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School. She was primarily a homemaker, but for several years worked at Clara's Flower Shop in Saxton. She taught faith and love by her constant example and enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and listening to gospel music. REPLOGLE, 67, of Jacks Corner Road, Hopewell, died Aug. 17, 2003, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1936, in Everett, the son of the late James S. and Kathryn E. (Foor) Replogle. He was united in marriage to Blodwen "Bobbie" Burr, June 8, 1957, in Ebensburg. He is survived by his wife at home; a daughter, Robin L. Walls, and her husband, Scott, of Huntingdon; a son, Gregory J. Replogle and his fiance, Debra Spring, of Hopewell; a grandson, Brett G. Replogle; and two granddaughters, Laikan C. Replogle and Marina R. Replogle. He is survived by three brothers: Donald E. Replogle and his wife, Norma (Clapper) of Yellow Creek; Dennis A. Replogle and his wife, Brenda (Sleighter) of Hopewell; and Gerald W. Replogle and his wife, Tanya (Boden) of Bedford. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Trenton J. Walls. Mr. Replogle was a member of Bethel Church of the Brethren, Tatesville. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 133 in Bedford and coached for Yellow Creek Little League. He was a graduate of the Robert P. Smith School, Class of 1954. Mr. Replogle served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1956 as a Specialist 3rd Class, where he served as drill sergeant. He also played on the Army Football team. He was initially employed as a toll collector for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in Breezewood and then worked at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg. He and his family owned and operated Little Jacks Corner restaurant in Loysburg Gap, the Fort Piper Restaurant and later, the Kountry Kettle Restaurant in Everett. He was then employed as a lease operator manager of the Union 76 Truck Stop in Breezewood, and most recently was a partner at Linda's Lunchbox and Catering in Everett. Mr. Replogle enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Saxton, the son of the late Clarence and Lena (Reed) Dixon. He was united in marriage to Betty Belle Anderson May 5, 1946. He was united in marriage to Alice F. Davis in 1964 in Las Vegas, Nev. He is survived by his wife at home; a daughter, Alice F. Dunkle of Baltimore, Md., who is currently serving in Iraq with the U.S. Army; a son, Harold Samuel "Sam" Dunkle Jr. of Mill Creek; and two grandchildren, Christian L. Hall and Kevin S. Hall, both of Baltimore, Md. John Edward "Ed" RUDY, 84, of Petersburg, Jackson Twp., Huntingdon, County, died Aug. 18, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 3, 1918, in Saulsburg, he was the son of the late James Isaac and Mary Leah (Harman) Rudy. He was united in marriage to Beatrice June Peoples, June 16, 1938. He is survived by his wife at home; three daughters, Mary A. Alterio of Bellefonte, Mrs. Donald (Myra A.) Walters of Milroy and Edith G. He was united in marriage to Linda Shope Dec. 31, 1955, at the parsonage of Calvary Baptist Church in Saltillo. He is survived by his wife at home; a daughter, Sherry Roland, and her husband, Marty, and granddaughter, Angela Roland, all of Harrisburg; a son, Lonny Kuhstos and grandson, Travis Kuhstos, both of Calvin, and granddaughter, Leslie Kuhstos of Clearfield; daughter, Holly Ardrey, and her husband, David, and grandson, Joshua Kuhstos, all of Calvin; son, Tracy Kuhstos, and his wife, Michele, and grandchildren, Devin and Haley Kuhstos, all of Calvin. Two sisters, Pearl Schnauffer and Margaret "Peg" Shope, both of Huntingdon, and a brother, Gilbert Kuhstos, and his wife, Betty, of Cassville, survive. He was preceded in death by his sisters Maxine Nastas and Julia Hall and by three infant siblings. Mr. Kuhstos served with the United States Army from Oct. 17, 1955, to Oct. 14, 1957, as a military police officer. He was employed by E.B. Endres, Huntingdon, for 12 years prior to starting his own construction business, which he operated for over 30 years and made many lasting friendships along the way. He was a devoted family man who would always be found surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and frequented Raysown Lake. "Although Charles will be greatly missed in this lifetime, his family and friends are quite sure that he'll be there to greet them in heaven, in perfect health and fishing while her waits," family members said. BOWSER, 70, of Valley Street, Mill Creek, formerly of Middletown, departed this life Aug. 19, 2003, in Morehead City, N.C. He was the son of the late Ralph and Pearl Skipper Bowser. He was twice married: first to Emily J. Smith, who preceded him in death; then to Sally Heaster. He is survived by his wife; a son, Craig H. Bowser of Lebanon; a daughter, Kimberly D. Schoen of Middletown; a step-daughter, Penny M. Gerholt of Mapleton; step-son, Sherman Heaster Jr. of Alexandria: 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Born June 12, 1926, in Mapleton, he was the son of the late John A. and Mabel E. (Jacka) Jamison. He was united in marrige to Lydia C. Mutersbaugh, Dec. 24, 1985. He is survived by his wife at the couple's Chambersburg residence; three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Barbara Jamison) Wenger of York, Mrs. Eugene (Beverly Jamison) Peachey and Beth Jamison, both of Huntingdon; One step-son, John A. Etter of New Mexico; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Carl (Judy A. Etter) McCloskey of Bellefonte and Mrs. Allan (Denise M. Etter) McKinney of York. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Nathan C. Mr. Jamison was a member of Standing Stone VFW Post No. 1754, Huntingdon; American Legion Post 223, Shippensburg; Mount Moriah F&AM Lodge No. 300, Huntingdon; Scottish Rite Consistory; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Central district Volunteer Fireman's Association; and Shippen Square's Square Dance Club, Shippensburg. He was a graduate of Huntingdon High School. He served in the United states Navy from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific, having attained the rank of Seaman First Class. He was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was a plumber and pipefitter, having worked for the former L.C. Anderson & Son, Huntingdon, for 25 years. He retired in 1987 as vice president. Mr. Jamison served as mayor of Huntingdon from 1981 to 1988. Prior to being mayor, he served on Huntingdon Borough Council for 11 years and was a past president. He had resided at his current home in Green Twp., Franklin County, since 1991. He enjoyed square dancing. Funeral services will be held Aug. 22, at the John B. HENRY, 68, of 8 Birch St., Kistler, died Aug. 19, 2003, at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona. Born April 9, 1935, in Allenport, he was the son of the late Miles L. and Viola (Fleming) Henry. He was united in marriage to Norma Evelyn Barger Aug. 3, 1953, in Hagerstown, Md. He is survived by his wife; four sons: Dennis M. Henry Jr. of Kistler, Timothy J. Henry of Mount Union, William J. Henry of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jeffrey W. Henry of McVeytown; One daughter, Dennise J. McCool of Clarksville, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sidney Jean Henry. Mr. Henry was of the Protestant faith. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He entered the service in 1952 and was honorable discharged in 1960. He retired in 2000 from Overhead Door in Lewistown and, prior to that, for many years, was an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed working in his wood shop. Rose Mary TAYLOR, 55, of Spring Mills, formerly of Huntingdon, passed away Aug. 20, 2003, as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near her Centre County home. She was born Nov. 28, 1947, in Broad Top City, the daughter of the late Irvin and Evelyn (Ross) Taylor. She was the granddaughter of the late Rose Taylor and Mike Ross. She is survived by a sister, Barbara Lucas, and her husband, Paul, of Broad Top City; two brothers, Robert Taylor, and his wife, Joanne, of Seven Valleys, and Michael Taylor, and his wife, Mary, of Silver Spring, Md.; three nieces; three nephews; and six great nieces. Ms. Taylor attended United Methodist Church. She was a 1965 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and 1969 graduated of Shippensburg University. She was a teacher in the Huntingdon Area School District for 30 years, retiring in 1999, and had been currently employed at Housing Transitions Inc. of State College. Jane ROWLES, 79, of Valley View Haven Retirement Community in Belleville, died Aug. 20, 2003, at Valley View Haven. She was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Union Mills, Belleville, the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Fultz) Rowles. She is survived by a son, Jeffrey "Lynn" Rowles, and his wife, Connie, of Spring Mills; a niece, Catherine Smith of Huntingdon, who was reared by her aunt; three grandchildren: Angela Rowles, Joseph Rowles and Tara Rowles; and two great-grandchildren, Casey Rowles and Kayle Rowles. Two sisters, Mable Coder of Mill Creek, and Olive Murrey of West Palm Beach, Fla., survive. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Laura Knepp, Dorothy Peters and Myra Campbell, and a brother, Ray Rowles. Ms. Rowles was primarily a homemaker. BLUMENSTEIN JR., 68, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Aug. 21, 2003, at the William A. Backus Hospital, Norwich, Conn. He was the son of the late Richard A. and Katherine G. Blumenstein. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Angelina "Jerry" (Raposa) Blumenstein; five sons: Richard C. Blumenstein of Duncannon, Shane E. Blumenstein of Scottsdale, Ariz., Tracy J. Blumenstein of Huntingdon, Stacey J. Blumenstien and Keith L. Blumenstein, both of Mechanicsburg; and eight grandchildren. A sister, Janis DiMartile of Wormleysburg; two uncles, Henry "Buster" Grissinger and Frank Grissinger; and several nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, John H. Blumenstein. Mr. Blumenstein was a retired sheet metal worker from Sheet Metal Worker's Union No. 19 and was in business with his son, Tracy, at Precision Marine Services in Huntingdon. Adam Eugene WRIGHT, 34, of 119 Kearney Road, Six Mile Run, died Aug. 21, 2003, from injuries suffered in an industrial accident at the JLG Industries plant in Shippensburg. He was born July 24, 1979, in Huntingdon, the son of Joe and Debra (Collins) Wright. He is survived by his parents at home; a maternal grandmother, Pricilla Fizer of Hopewell; a maternal grandfather, Francis Collins Sr. of Dover; a brother, Joe Wright of Bedford; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Stanley E. and Myrtle E. Wright. Mr. Wright was a devoted member of the Kearney Union Church in Six Mile Run. He was an active member and secretary for the Six Mile Run Volunteer Fire Co. and involved in many activities in the Six Mile Run community. Mr. Wright was a 1998 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School in Saxton. For the past five years, he was employed as an assembler for JLG Industries in McConnellsburg and Shippensburg. Interment will be made in Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run. Elvina J. (Rhoat) RHUNKE, 83, of Main Line Nursing Home, Malvern, formerly of Saxton, died Aug. 22, 2003, at Main Line Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Huntingdon, the daughter of the late William and Iva (Carberry) Rhoat. She was first married to Frank C. Lavornia, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Robert B. Rhunke in August 1989 in Huntingdon, Mr. Rhunke preceded her in death April 10, 2000. She is survived by two sons, Tom Evans of Huntingdon and Frank J. Lavornia of Kerarney, N.J.; two daughters, Pauline Swope of Malvern and Renee Dignazio of Harrison, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert W. Lavornia. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. "Rick" REEDER, 63, of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Mount Union, died unexpectedly Aug. 22, 2003, at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. Born July 24, 1940, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Charles Lloyd "Chet" and Elsie Olive (Norris) Reeder. He was united in marriage to Marlene P. Richardson at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Union. He is survived by his wife of 43 years; and two sons, Todd A. Reeder, and his wife, Gudrun, of Charlottesville, Va., and Brad S. Reeder, and his wife, Shannon, of Raleigh, N.C. He is also survived by four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley J. Fromm, and a brother, Charles Gary Reeder. Mr. Reeder was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Cape Fear Club. He graduated from Captain Jack High School, Mount Union, Class of 1958, and from Grove City College, Grove City, Class of 1962. Mr. Reeder was the former manager of the Wilmington Hilton. He had presently been owner and operator of Dairy Express Ice Cream Trucks and was affectionately know as "The Ice Cream Man." Funeral services will be held Aug. 27, at the Robert D. Helen Elizabeth (Kocik) MOLLISH, 79, a resident of Sunbridge Healthcare of Salem, W.Va., and formerly of Clarksburg, W.Va., died Aug. 23, 2003. She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Mount Union, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Theresa Kocik. She was united in marriage to Jack James Mollish Aug. 23, 1947. She is survived by her husband at the couple's Clarksburg home; a daughter, Mary Anne Seckman of Clarksburg, W.Va.; and two granddaughters, Andrea Seckman of Dublin, Ohio, and Stacie Seckman of Clarksburg, W.Va. A brother, Andrew Kocik, and his wife, Alice, of Juniata Twp., Huntingdon County, and a sister, Elizabeth Eike of Sayre, survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lucas and Anna Kocik. Mrs. Mollish was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg, W.Va. She was co-owner of National Insurance Management Corporation of Clarksburg, W.Va., from 1965 until her retirement in 1987. He was born May 27, 1981, in Huntingdon, the son of Joseph Brode of Mapleton and Penny Swope of Saxton. He is survived by a sister, Kim D. Brode of Six Mile Run; two brothers, Steven C. Brode of Saxton and Jimmy G. Brode of Claysburg; two nieces, Paige K. Brode of Six Mile Run and Alexis Ann Brode of Saxton; and one nephew, Tex C. Brode of Saxton. Kenneth Carl HENRY, 63, of HCR 71, Hustontown, died unexpectedly Aug. 24, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. Born Jan. 4, 1940, in Springfirld Twp., Huntingdon County, he was the son of John Howard and Rosetta (Brown) Henry. He was married to Shirley A. Brown May 27, 1967, at the Church of the Nazarene in Rockhill Furnace by the Rev. Donald Keith. He is survived by his wife at home; his mother at HCR 71, Hustontown; and one son, Timothy J. Henry, at home. One brother, John Dean Henry of North Clear Ridge Road, Hustontown, and one sister, Rosalie Wolfe of Elliottsburg, survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Henry. Mr. Henry was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) and the National Education Association (NEA). He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. He retired in April 2002 from the Southern Huntingdon County School District after 17 years of service. He last worked as a custodian at Trough Creek Elementary School. Prior to his employment with the school district, he had worked 20 years at Harbison-Walker Refractories in Mount Union. Interment will be made in Clear Ridge Cemetery, North Clear Ridge Road, Hustontown. William R. BROWN, 85, of Mount Union, died Aug. 25, 2003, in the emergency room at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. He had become ill at home. Born Feb. 24, 1918, in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Clyde and Sarah Jane (Copenhaver) Brown. He was united in marriage to Evelyn I. Goshorn June 6, 1941, in Richvale. He is survived by his wife of 62 years; three sons: William David Brown of Fayetteville, Ark., Charles C. Brown of Davis, Okla., and Dennis L. Brown of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters survive: Fred Brown of Oak Hill, N.Y.; Lovenia Lower of Jacksonville, Fla.; Edmund Brown of Rohmert Park, Calif.; and Anna Mary Wilson of Dover, Del. He was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Mary Jane Brown and Delphia Isabelle Brown, and a brother, Melvin Brown. Mr. Brown graduated from Mount Union High School. GAYMAN. 74, of 11339 Tanyard Hill Road, Orrstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg. He was born April 23, 1939, in Pleasant Hall, Franklin County, the son of the late Irvin S. and Grace E. (Keefer) Gayman. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Blake) Grove Gayman; one son, Robert E. Gayman Jr. of Orrstown; one step-daughter, Lenore M. O'Neal of Tampa, Fla.; one grandson; four step-grandsons; six step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter. A sister, Mrs. Clyde (Dorothy G.) Diehl of Pleasant Hill, survives. Mr. Gayman was a member of the Newburg First Church of God. For over 20 years, he was self-employed as a livestock dealer and truck driver and attended many of the area's livestock auctions. Years ago, he was employed by Royal Contractors in Philadelphia. "Sonny" BARNETT, 67, of Dudley, died Aug. 27, 2003, at Altoona Hospital following a brief illness. Born Feb. 11, 1936, in Hustontown, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Iva (Strait) Barnett. He was united in marriage to Margaret "Peggy" Smith, June 26, 1959, in Hagerstown, Md. He is survived by his wife at home; the following children: Donnie Barnett, and his wife, Deb, of Saxton; Janice Styer, and her husband, Todd, of Mansfield, Ohio; Tammy Spencer, and her husband, Tom, of Dudley; and Sheila Musser, and her husband, Chris, of Broad Top City; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Madeline Ulsh, Three Springs; Gerald Barnett, Marietta; Genevieve Cutshall, Danville; Harty Barnett and Gayle Harris, both of McConnellsburg; Clarence E. Barnett Jr., Waterfall; Karl Barnett, Hustontown; and Gary Barnett, Three Springs. He was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Barnett, and one sister, Patricia Mellott. Mr. Barnett was a member of the Church of God Tabernacle, Saxton. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 542 in Harrisburg. For a number of years, he was employed by the L&B Coal Co., Waterfall, and worked for several years at Heritage Cove Campground in Saxton. He retired in 1998 from the Leon E. Interment will be made in Dudley Protestant Cemetery. Lemar S. "Smokey" KLINE, 81, of Saltillo, died Aug. 28, 2003, at Altoona Hospital. Born Dec. 3, 1921, in Licking Creek Township, Fulton County, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Maude (Strait) Kline. He was united in marriage to Myra Fae Thomas June 10, 1947, in Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Kline preceded him in death Aug. 4, 2001. He is survived by one daughter, Linda Fae Drenning of Waterfall, and one son, Lew Alan "Joe" Kline of Hustontown. One sister, Freeda Mollott of Chambersburg, and one brother, Horace Kline of McConnellsburg, survive. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Mr. Kline was a 1940 graduate of Green Hill High School in Fulton County. He had served on the Saltillo Television Council, as an assistant scout master for the Saltillo Boy Scout Troop, on the Southern Huntingdon County School Board for 12 years, on the Saltillo Borough Council for five years and was a current member of Cromwell Lodge No. 572 F&AM. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired in 1981 from the Pennsylvania Game Commission after 32 years of service. (Dodson) DONALDSON, 68, of 519 Broad St., Hopewell, with to be with the Lord Aug. 28, 2003, at the Monti Fiore Kidney Unit in Pittsburgh following an extended illness. Born Sept. 22, 1934, in Hopewell, she was the daughter of the late George and Stella V. (Chisholm) Dodson. She was united in marriage to Merrill L. Donaldson Aug. 9, 1952, in Cumberland, Md. She is survived by her husband at home; two daughters, Vicki Donaldson of Englewood, Fla., and Cindi Donaldson of Huntingdon; and five grandchildren, Casey, Shane, Adam, Kady and Dalton. She is survived by two brothers, Fred Dodson of Akron, Ohio, and Raymond Dodson of Dennewidk, Wash.; and two sisters, Catherine Plisko of Wallingford and Ruth O'Dea of Hopewell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jenkins, and a brother, James Dodson. Mrs. Donaldson was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church. She was a member of Huntingdon Chapter 159 Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Donaldson was primarily a homemaker, who enjoyed rising her family, planting flowers, music and art. A graveside service will be held Aug. 30, at Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery, Hopewell, with Pastor Barbara Berg officiating. Order of Eastern Star will also be conducting services at the cemetery. Helen Elizabeth DULIK, 95, a resident of Huntingdon Manor, Warm Springs Avenue, Huntingdon since March 1999, formerly of Petersburg, died Aug. 29, 2003, at Huntingdon Manor. She was born Oct. 12, 1907, at her family's home in the Juniata section of Altoona, the daughter of the late William Lewis and Irene Estelle (Strong) Sanderson. She was twice married; her first union to S. Earl Imler June 1, 1927, at her family home. Mr. Imler preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1966. She and Mr. Imler were parents of an infant son, Marshall Justice Imler, who died at birth, Nov. 4, 1929. Her second marriage was to Curil Dulik May 18, 1972, at the parsonage of the Callender Memorial Church, Pittsburgh. Mr. Dulik preceded her in death June 22, 1980. She is survived by close friends, Edgar and Jeanne Palpant, and several nieces and nephews. She as the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Sheldon Sanderson and John Sanderson; and three sisters, Marion Bushnell, Emma Dingeldein and Ruth Prough. Mrs. Dulik was an active member of the Christian faith both through her deeds and her music. She was a 1925 graduate of Altoona High School. Singing the gospel of Jesus Christ, the ministry of music was a large part of Mrs. Dulik's life. She was a gospel singer for most of her adult life and performed as a soloist for many events and on radio, having had her own gospel radio show for 10 consecutive year early in her career. All the member of her family were musically talented having, as Mrs. Dulik said, "been born with music in their bones." Helen was also talented as an artist and craftswoman. She painted, made hook rugs from cotton and refinished antique furniture. She made the wooden hooks herself, to do the rugs, and was very selective of the quality of the materials she used for the finished masterpieces. Their family life evolved around the Christian church and she entertained many visitors with her gospel music, home cooking and a favorite hobby of making home-made ice-cream. Mrs. Dulik was also an accomplished poetess and seamstress. She particularly enjoyed designing gowns, hats and purses, often using fur trim as accents. She resided in the Juniata section of Altoona until her marriage in 1927, moving then to Punzsutawney area, later returning to Altoona and Petersburg in 1992 to live with the Palpants. From 1993 until her move to Huntingdon Manor, she was a resident of Wesner's Manor, Claysburg. Graveside services will be held Sept. 2, 2003, Grandview Cemetery, Altoona, with Pastor Herbert L. Rice officiating. Walter BRUMBAUGH, 84, a resident of the Shirley Home for the Aged, Shirleysburg, formerly of Saxton, died Aug. 31, 2003 at Altoona Hospital. He was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Snake Spring Township, Bedford County, and was reared in Saxton. the son of the late Charles and Mary Catherine (Noel) Brumbaugh He is survived by a sister, Nancy Brumbaugh of Altoona, and a sister-in-law ,Joanne Brumbaugh of Broad Top City. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born Sept 5, 1914, in Tell Township Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late George and M. Effie (Greagor) McMullen. She was united in marriage to Herman "Pease" Chilcote who proceded her in death July 8, 1988. She is survived by 10 children Alma Helmuth of Fort Littleton, Dolly Mann of Green Lane, Eugene Chilcote of Chambersburg, J. Boyd Chilcote of Mount Union, Wendell Chilcote of Mechanicsburg, Jane Lauder of Mifflin, Robert Chilcote of Rockhill Furnace Mary McElrath of Orbisonia, Beverly Stricker of Thompsontown and Randall ehilcote of Orbisonia; one stepson, Richard Chilcote of GreenCastle; 23 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. Born Jan. 18, 1909 in East Providence Township, Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late James Elliot and Florence (Mellot) Kauffman. She was united in marriage to Chester Gates who proceded her in death She is survived by one son, Harold C. Gates Sr. and his wife, Audrey H. of Saxton; two granddaughters, E. Elizabeth Gates of Saxton, and Shirley A. Gates and her husband Michael Shea of Shenandoah; 11 great-grandchildren 16 great-great-grandchildren; and on great-great-great-grandsbn. Thelma Blanche MURPHY, 83, formerly of Shade Gap, died Aug. 30, 2003 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg. Born May 15, 1920 in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Rena (Secrest) Whitsel. She was united in marriage to Dean L. Murphy March 15, 1944. Mr. Murphy preceded her in death May 12, 1995. She is survived by two sons ,and two daughters, Gary Murphy, Linda Mills, Carol Doyle and Randall Murphy Sr., all of Shade Gap; 10 granchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three infant brothers and four sisters, Marie Whitsel, Verna Crotsley, Ruth Smith and Mildred Jaymes.
