She was aged about 68 years. Mrs. Baker, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Henderson, was a daughter of John S. Henderson and wife, deceased, of Mapleton, and was born in Mifflin county, near Atkinsons Mills. Her mother died when she was young in years; her father preceded her to the grave a few years ago. December 31, 1874, she was united in marriage to Calvin Baker and for several years they resided in Mapleton, later moving to Fulton County. When about ten years of age she became a Christian and was one of the kind that lived the Christ-life every day in the year. She has been a member of the Methodist church all these years. Surely a kind mother and a good neighbor has laid down the implement of this life for a better one. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss, three sisters, - Mrs. Landis Himes and Mrs. William O'Connor, both of Mapleton, and Mrs. Frank O'Connor, now of New York state; two brothers - Samuel Henderson, of Mapleton, and John B. Henderson, of Altoona; seven children, - Mrs. J. W. Evans of Virginia, Mrs. Frank Madden of Maddensville, Mrs. P.A. Hileman of Altoona, Mrs. J. L. Bloom of Tyrone, Mrs. Howard Everhart, of Woodvale, Miss Dorothy Baker and Jay Baker, at home; nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
