Mae (Lightner) Blair, 88, of 5952 Trout Run Lane, Spruce Creek, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 5:40 p.m. at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College. She was born April 23, 1918 in Masseyburg, a daughter of the late Chester N. and Alice (Russler) Lightner. On February 6, 1937 in Maryland, she married Paul Leroy Blair, who preceded her in death on January 8, 1997. She is survived by a daughter: Dolores Blair Burwell-Angley and her husband Allen of Bellefonte; a daughter-in-law: Nancy Kornbau of Red Lion; sister: Louise Miller and her husband John of State College; granddaughters: Kathy Evans of York, Kim Blair of Phoenix, Arizona, Lori Davis of Phoenix, Arizona, Wendi Blair of Spruce Creek, Karen Greenland of Spring Mills, Paula Butler of Bellefonte and Lori Boltz of Lebanon and great-grandchildren: Jimmy Vogelsong of Lakeland, Florida, Cricket Blair of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Eric McCoy of Phoenix, Arizona, Jason Vogelsong of York, Kelsie McCoy of Colorado, Ashley Rider of State College, Austin Greenland of Spring Mills, Blair Davis of California, Heather Evans of York and Olivia Boltz of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by a son, John Chester Blair on December 30, 1983 and a sister, Ruth Houck. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Blair was a member of the Water Street Evangelical Church where she was active in the ladies' group and all church functions. She was also a life member of the Shavers Creek Fire Company Auxiliary and the Spruce Creek Township election board for over 40 years. She dearly enjoyed all kinds of family gatherings and was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Blair had been a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and at her Spruce Creek Township home for the past 50 years. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home-Juniata Valley Chapel, 412 Main Street, Alexandria. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Bruce Boyles will officiate. Interment will be at Mooresville Cemetery, West Township, Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Waterstreet Evangelical Church, PO Box 114, Alexandria, Pa. 16611 or to American Cancer Society, RR1, Huntingdon, Pa. 16652.
