Booher, 69, formerly of Allenport and Mill Creek and a resident of Hillview and Golden Living Nursing and Retirement Home, Altoona, since 1989, died at 6:55 p.m., on Sunday, March 9 at the home. He had been in failing health. The funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13 at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. Officiating was by Pastor Michael Dubbs and interment was made at the Mount Union Cemetery. He was born June 13, 1938, in Mapleton Depot and was the son of the late Walter E. and Esther May (Chilcoat) Booher. Mr. Booher is survived by a brother, Charles J. Booher of Huntingdon and also there are a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Donald Booher. Mr. Booher attended Captain Jack High School and was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in Huntingdon. He retired on disability in 1988 after owning and operating Booher Brothers Rendering Service with his brother since 1958. Mr. Booher liked to play bingo and watch game shows and local and world news on television. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, Pa., March 19, 2008
