"Bill" Bowles, 66, of Jack's Mt. Road, Mapleton, died at 10:36 a.m., Wednesday, January 16 at the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 26 at the Beech Run Church of the Brethren, RD, Mapleton, with Pastor Connie Maclay officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. ' Arrangement are under the direction of the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. He was born March 20, 1941 at Harrisburg and he was the son of the late Harry J. Bowles and Leatta (Figard) Bowles who survives of Enola. He was married to the former Villa M. Varner on April 13 1968 at the Beech Run Church of the Brethren, RD, Mapleton. Mrs. Bowles survives at their home. Mr. Bowles is survived by the following daughters: Angela Parsons of Saltillo; Deneen Hall and husband, Rick of RD, Mapleton and Samantha Weatherwalk of RD, Mapleton. Nine grandchildren: Nicholas Hall, Kasee Hall, Erica Hall, Hannah Parsons; Alison Parsons; Rebecca Parsons; Paige Parsons; Savannah Weatherwalk and Shyanne Weatherwalk. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Lynn Nadwoday of Enola; Joe Bowles of Marysville; Tanya Leese of Enola; Tim Bowles of Carlisle and Randy Bowles of Enola. Mr. Bowles attended the Beech Run Church of the Brethren, RD, Mapleton. He had attended East Pennsboro High School, Enola. He was employed by the Plumbers & Steamfitters Union, Local 520, Harrisburg. He enjoyed racing and fishing at the Outer Banks, NC with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the US army serving with the combat engineers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beech Run Church of the Brethren, c/o William Bowles Memorial Fund, 14918 Hares Valley Road, Mapleton, PA 17052.
