BROWN Who resided during the winter months with her daughter, Eva Brown Berkstresser, proprietress of the Colonnade hotel, died at 4.30 o'clock this morning at the Altoona hospital of a heart ailment. She was admitted to the hospital only at 4 o'clock this morning, but had been bedfast since Feb. 20, suffering from a heart ailment. Mrs. Brown resided through the summers at her home in Mt. Union. She was born in Springfield township, Huntingdon county, on Jan. 22, 1858, a daughter of Elliott and Eleanor (Booth) Ramsey. Her husband, Jacob W. Brown, died five years ago. Surviving are one daughter and one son, Mrs. Berkstresser of the city and Emmett S. Brown of Mt. Union, and two grandchildren. Emmett V. and Patricia Jean Berkstresser, at the home. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Church of God in Springfield township. BROWN - Short funeral services for Mrs. Alice E. Brown, Mount Union, will be held at the Clark funeral home, Mt. Union, at 1 p.m. Saturday followed by services at the Walnut Grove church at 2 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Friends are being received at the Hickey funeral home until Thursday evening, and at Clark funeral home, Mt. Union, from Friday noon till Saturday noon. Altoona Mirror, May 8, 1945
