Brown, 93, formerly of Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2001, at the Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia. Funeral services were held May 23 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with Rev. William Hughes officiating. Interment was made at Three Springs Cemetery. Born July 13, 1907, in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ella (Booher) Jacka. She was united in marriage to Sheldon Brown on April 29, 1927. Mr. Brown preceded her in death July 12, 1971. Surviving are two sisters, Myrtle Cohenour of the Shirley Home for the Aged, Shirleysburg, and Betty Stevens of Orbisonia. She was preceded in death by one son, Jack R. Brown, and the following brothers and sisters: Clair, Thomas, Norman, Elsie Jacka and Viola Bowen. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church, Mount Union Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Frances Rebekah Lodge, Three Springs.
