O. Brumbaugh, Cousin of Governor's, Suicides in Baltimore. Dr. S. O. Brumbaugh, of Huntingdon, recently commissioned as captain in the United States army medical service, committed suicide Friday afternoon at the office of a Baltimore physician, stated a Public Ledge dispatch yesterday. Dr. Brumbaugh took his life in the office of Dr. George Wright, in the Maryland city, the Philadelphia newspaper correspondent wrote. He was a second cousin of Governor Brumbaugh and a first cousin to President I. Harvey Brumbaugh, of Juniata college. He was an expert surgeon, was highly esteemed and his sudden death came as a great surprise. Nervousness to which he was subject, is given as the cause for his action. He was eager to get into national services and delays incident to starting his work affected the surgeon's health. Altoona Tribune, Monday morning, September 9, 1918, page 1
