Burket, 73, of 2301 Cassady Avenue, Huntingdon, died Thursday evening, November 8, 1973, at 7:30 o'clock at her home. She had been in failing health for the past two years. Born March 29, 1900, at Spruce Creek, she was a daughter of Oscar J. and Ida May (Miller) Graffius. She was united in marriage on October 18, 1925 to Charles B. Burket who preceded her in death October 4 of this year. Surviving are the following children: Charles J. Burket, East Petersburg; Mrs. John (Charlotte) Rittenhouse, Huntingdon; M. Kim Burket, Huntingdon and Mrs. David (Kay) Gardner, San Francisco, Calif. There are seven grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Homer Graffius of Altoona and three sisters: Mrs. Charlotte Henry, Altoona; Mrs. Harry (Mildred) Carper, Osceola Mills, and Mrs. Thomas (Lorraine) Davis, Alexandria. The deceased was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Huntingdon and belonged to the ladies Sunday School class of the church. Educated in Spruce Creek schools, Mrs. Burket graduated from Spruce Creek High School in 1918 and the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1921. She worked as a registered nurse until the time of her marriage, and afterwards served as a private duty and home nurse. She was a resident of the Huntingdon area for the past 30 years. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 11, at 2 p.m. from the Brown funeral home, Huntingdon. The Rev. Henry F. Hopkins will officiate and interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday and until the time of the services on Sunday.
