All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm __________________________________________ David Caldwell, Esq., A prominent Huntingdon lawyer, died suddenly of heart failure in Tyrone a few minutes after 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He had been in poor health all winter, his heart being weak in consequence of a severe attack of grip. He returned to Tyrone from Hollidaysburg, where he had been attending to legal business on Tuesday evening, and remained over night at the house of Miss Lillie Gates, of whose father's estate he was the executor. After dinner yesterday he left the house with the intention of taking the train for Huntingdon, but fell down on the street. He was assisted to A.? J. Mattern's store and died before a physician could be summoned. David Caldwell was born at Water Street, Huntingdon county, sixty-five years ago. He was admitted to the bar in Huntingdon county in January, 1857, and as a legal adviser he has been among the leading and most respected in his county. His estate is valued at about $60,000. He was never married. He is survived by one brother, Israel C. Caldwell, of Tyrone, and one sister, Mrs. Hannah Tabler, of Minooka, Grundy county, Iowa; one step-brother, Samuel D. Caldwell, of Washington, and one step-sister, Mrs. A. W. Greene, of Clar?, Iowa. The remains will be interred at Shade Gap, Huntingdon county, probably on Saturday.
