He was a native of Juniata county where he was born Oct. 26, 1882, the son of Robert and Harriet (Rhine) Campbell. He came to Blair county early in life and taught in the Logan township schools for twelve years, then went to Juniata where he taught for eleven years, or until Juniata borough became a part of Altoona in 1929, and he continued his teaching in the city until his retirement on Nov. 1, 1944. About four months ago he moved to Franklinville, where he has since resided. He was united in marriage with the former Daisy Barmond, who survives, with a son to a former marriage, William Campbell, and two brothers, Frank and Lee Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Altoona and of the Gailey Bible class of that church. He was a member of Mountain lodge, No. 281, F&A.M., in Altoona. Friends will be received at the home at Franklinville on Thursday and Friday up to the time of the funeral. CAMPBELL Funeral services for Charles Ross Campbell will be conducted at the home at Franklinville. In charge of Rev. E. Foster, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in the Alexandria cemetery. Friends will be received at the home Thursday and Friday to the time of the funeral.
